Garnett out for the post-season. More serious knee injury than led on.. Props, HK. Thanks Boston for giving us an easy title :]
If anything you're probably worse off because Cleveland was coming out of the east anyway. If KG was playing he'd make it really tough for the Cavs to win the series. It's huge that Cleveland has HCA because that means Bos and Orlando have to play each other at some point then the winner goes on to play Cleveland who are insanely good at home. The Celts and Orlando will still probably end up beating up on each other but I don't see a KG-less Boston team nor Orlando really giving the Cavs too much trouble. Their path to the finals won't be all that difficult and they'll have HCA throughout. LAL is the only team to beat Cle at home this season so they have that going for them. They could feasibly end up going to 6-7 game series with some of those western conference teams. LAL will have to go against Utah and the winner of Por/Hou. Then go up against Den/SA. Then they get the Cavs with home court advantage. That's a pretty tough group. Cleveland only has Detroit, Atl/Mia, then Bos/Orl before the finals.
I don't know if Cleveland came out of the East if Boston was healthy. I'm still on the thought that Cleveland is the most overrated team in the NBA this season, and I have no intentions on backing down on my stance any time soon. Sure, they can win at home, but they have yet to get a credible road win, and I don't think they're good enough to beat the Lakers in a 7 game series. As for our road to the Finals, I don't think it's that tough. We should be able to take Utah in 5 at worst. Houston doesn't really scare me and I think we could get them in 5 or 6. San Antonio doesn't stand a chance against us without Ginobli. We took them out last year when they had Ginobli (granted he wasn't healthy), and if they make it that far, I think it's a 5 or 6 game series at the most with them. And if we have to face Denver, we've beaten them 7 of the last 8 times (I think) and swept them in the playoffs last year. They don't have the size to contend with us down low and they don't have anyone who can shut down Kobe, who has continually torched them as of recent. In all honesty, the only team that I think can give us a run for our money is Portland. They're the only team that can match our depth as a team and size in the front court. Their main issue is lack of playoff experience, and against a veteran team like the Lakers, I think that could come in to play. In all, you overrate the West this year. It's got a bunch of good teams, but the Lakers are head and shoulders above every single team out there this year, and it really isn't that close.
No problem Mamba. However I still want Boston to beat the Cavs, it would be so much fun playing them again in the Finals. Playing the Cavs is ok too though.
Only team that scares me is Orlando. We don't matchup well with them, simply put. Props on the call huevon.
Oh so true man, Orlando would put up a much better fight in my eyes. The only issue is that Alston isn't as good as Nelson.
Garnett is not officially out yet, though. Doc did a radio interview and gave his opinion. I know his name is Doc, but I don't think he's a real one.
jesus, why does everyone say that cleveland are too good for us? why do they say that we have little chance? i dont see what makes them better than us, really, we have so many more weapons on the floor, and much more experience, thats got to count for something, right? Yeah, garnett isnt officially out yet, but its looking as if he might be out for a while longer, which is a real bummer for him, i mean imagine if this happened to pau or dreew right now, that would suck, anyway, Doc is not a real doc your right thrilla. all i know is that the lakers have got a very high chance at reaching the finals again, in fact its almost certain we will, it would take alot to bring us down. where as cleveland have to face boston or orlando, two of the top 4 teams in the league. cleveland have mo and lebrick, but outside of those two there is no real depth, no real threat that would threaten the lakers chances as much as some of you are saying they are. alot of people have been judging our team by our most recent performances, games played after securing the top seed in the west. just look at the lakers best games this season, everyone is on their game and we have 4 out of 5 guys on the floor that are major threats, the only other team who has achieved this is orlando, and then again they are unconsistent in that category. I think pau is going to step up big these playoffs, i just feel it in my bones, he is going to show the nba his full capacity. Plus, we got Bynum now!
The Cavs havnt gotten out of the first round yet guy's I wouldnt crown them the East champs just yet.
That's sweet. Anyway, I also hope that we're gonna see another Boston vs Los Angeles final series, but I wouldn't mind seeing LeBron & Co getting their ass beaten in the finals (again).
