I love this quote/part. He could've played for Satan's all stars, and I'd still love the fact he's a Blazer. As much as I like the Beavers, my first and best love is the Trail Blazers. And I think that Blazer fans are the same way. The Ducks could suck, the Beavers could suck..and if the Blazers won the title? I'd be happier than anything (sports wise). In fact, if the alternative was Blazers good (title winners) and Ducks/Beavers in the shitter? I'd take the Blazers winning titles.
Did you finally drop the spelling gimmick? And you're right, it's where you're at that matters to me. If you're a Bruin, and now a Blazer..I love the fact you're a Blazer.
"I was a part of the Washington turnaround and that was great, but it was not like this," Roy said. "Man, these people are really into it. They love the Blazers. They feel like they are a part of it, like they are really on this team. Like they got numbers and lockers and everything." I will take number 81507, my sons birthdate!
The name on the front of the jersey trumps the name on the back. BTW, I got a chuckle out of that quote in post #3. The Blazers were evil because they spent money and had a "win at all costs" attitude???? Did it ever cross your feeble little reporters' brain that if the Sonics had tried a little harder to win, they might have gotten a better arena and not been sold to Bennett and his robber barons! Sometimes, you try your hardest and it just doesn't work out. If you don't try, if you refuse to take chances, then failure is guaranteed.
