Yankees win

First, the good news. The New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 11-2.

Now the bad news. I’m sorry, there is no bad news. Only more good news. The Red Sox lost to the Tampa Rays. Here’s a video I made about Daisuke Matsuzaka. Yes, he pitched and lost today.

I almost predicted this score for the Yankees except I did it for yesterday’s game. This is the type of game us Yankee fans want to see, a lot of scoring for our team and very few runs scored for the other team.

When A.J. Burnett loaded the bases in the third inning, I was like, oh no, here we go again with the Yankees losing but he showed resolve and got out of the jam. I was very impressed. Burnett got the win.

I really liked the bullpen. They pitched 3.2 innings of shut out ball while striking out 6 batters. It seemed to me that Brian Bruney pitched with more confidence. That was good to see.

Robinson Cano is starting the season on a different level. It’s the total opposite of last year. Last year he slumped but so far this year, he’s hitting every thing in sight. I really love it. Cano filled up the box score good. He had three hits, four runs scored, had two RBI, and raised his batting average to .545.

Player of the Game: Nick Swisher

I had a hard time with this one. It was between him and Robinson Cano. It actually went down to their last at bats. I said, if Cano gets a hit here, he’ll get player of the game.

Then Swisher got up and I said, if he gets a hit, it’s going to be tough but Swisher made my choice a little easier by driving in two more runs. Swisher’s final stat line: 3-for-5 with two runs scored and five RBI.

Yeah, you still lost two games to them.
