It's not about simply "getting in" anymore. Nor is it about being happy with a one n' dun or elated to get to the 2nd Round. Nor is it about getting "lucky" and play in the WCF. No, this thing is about goin' all the way. You can hear it in Nate's talk, as well as what the players are relating. It's about a Championship, baby!! And, I believe. Play To The Tune Of June! That's my ABM manifesto / rally cry.
I hear ya. Certainly the expectation at this point has to be to win the first round. Winning the Lakers' series would be amazing - and should the Blazers do that, then, yeah, I'd have to say that bringing home some hardware is a realistic possibility. But getting past the Lakers - as much as LA has struggled at the Rose Garden in the regular season - is going to be very, very difficult. And let's not get ahead of ourselves - taking out a determined, experienced Houston Rockets' team in the Blazers' first playoff series in a long time won't be a picnic either.
IIRC, the '77 Blazers played two very, VERY difficult series (Nuggets, then Bulls?) before manhandling the Lakers on the way to glory land.
This year? Uh ... I like the enthusiasm, but let's see how they respond to a single playoff game before we get too carried away.
