I can't even really believe this was ever in doubt ... I mean it's the fucking playoffs! You'll have all summer to rest.
So, the thread about Oden having a sinus infection was a billion pages long, wherein several people questioned Greg's desire and his healing abilities (or lackthereof), but the thread giving him the green light has only a few responses..... I am not trying to complain, I just find it interesting. I am glad to have him for the series. But, seriously....That is some quick healing! Anyone here ever had a sinus infection? They can be a bitch. Sometimes they can go away fairly quickly, but they have a habit of lingering around. I had one once that basically made me useless to the world for a couple of weeks. Everytime I moved, I just felt like shooting myself...hehe Nice to see you better Greg.
People love to hate on Oden which is why he might go to play in another city since he gets pretty much zero respect from the Blazer fans and media.
I just watched a PTI episode from this week (40hr week w/a 40hr bartending course means lots of DVR'd stuff) where Kornheiser said "he's averaging 10 fouls per 48 minutes!" Amazingly enough, he's also averaging 20 points, 16 rebounds and almost 3 blocks per 48. But he's still a "bust", I guess.
ha as soon as they allow 10 fouls per game, and oden can play 48 minutes per game, we might really have something! truthfully, he is important to this team, and he wil only get better. next year 14/9/2
If you've ever watched the news, and the amount of bad news vs. good news, you'd agree that this phenomenon is hardly unique to this messageboard. Bad news = ratings. Glad Greg's playing, had a hard time believing he'd atually be held out.
Or when Oden learns to stop fouling so much and referees stop calling him so tightly. Portland might have something then, too.
Lots of studies show that people react more negatively to bad news than they do positively to good news. So it isn't surprising that people will freak out when they read the bad news, and not be overly excited when the good news comes out.
Who knows how much we'll see from GO tonight. I think it says a lot about him that he's suiting up and giving it a go. Everything I've heard about sinus infections say that they're quite painful, especially when running, jumping and breathing heavily.
