Stern, "Maybe Charlotte should get another chance with the NBA."

Subordinate, "Really? I mean how many tiny markets get second chances?"

Stern, "New Orleans, apparently. I'm sure they'll break attendance records. Also, Memphis is a good idea. Let's take a look at Oklahoma City while we're at it. The NHL is exploring the south, which obviously has untapped hockey culture potential as well."

Subordinate, "But those are college towns. The NBA is a big city game."

Stern, "The NBA is a game for cities that build arenas. We need to show every city that."

Subordinate, "But those franchises will lose money, even with arenas. I mean, who wants to see Charlotte play Oklahoma City in the NBA finals?"

Stern, "They won't make it. I promise."

I don't think Seattle has to worry about getting a team in the near future.

What a silly thing to cut back on. How expensive can fielding a Summer League team be?

Seattle is the 15th largest metro-area in the nation, they should have an NBA team. The Clippers should move to San Diego, Baltimore is another large city that could probably support an NBA team. Or how about Hawaiian team? Do they like basketball?

Yes, but it's a small market, smaller than any NBA market. They're all Laker fans anyway.

Everyone in Hawaii is rich, they can start at like $100.00 for 300 level tickets and make up for the lower attendance.

Rich people in Hawaii aren't from Hawaii, and really don't give two shits about it except it's warm and has nice beaches, and Waikiki has a great night life. The real locals, who would be the most fervent fans and would be the ones who'd actually pay for tickets, couldn't afford prices like that.

A team in Hawaii would be terible. Think about the time shift for team scoming from the East coast./ The awful, awful travel schedule. Them having to play half of their games a good trip away. Would never work.

    san diego 8th most populated
    san jose 10th
    jacksonville 12th
    honolulu 49th

and for all the people that say david stern isnt rigging the titles because san antonio has won 4, they are the 7th largest market in america. not that he is.

    thats just city population though.

    A mere pittance I'm sure.

Proably less than the combined salaries of Jordan and Larry Brown.

I'm thinking it can't be more than $100-$200K.
