Beasted folks with a sinus infection. He's going to be good, you fickle fans just have to have a little patience.
Odenisgod shut the fuck up! The turning point in this game was when Joel got his I think 3rd foul and Frye came in for him. That's just stupid. Frye recent good play was at PF not center. Oden should have came in I don't care that he had 2 fouls. What is Nate saving his fouls for next game? I was screaming the whole time for Nate to put Oden in, but he left Frye in. When Frye came in we had made a little run and had it down to 10 or so, but with Frye playing center we got killed! I'm not blaming Frye, he is what he is, but what he isn't is a center. Oden played well. We should continue to feed him the ball when possible. And please, I'm not saying only Frye played bad, there's plenty of blame to go around, but I knew when Frye came in for Joel we were in trouble. Oh, and who was it that said we didn't need Oden that Fyre could take his place? KS wasn't it? More like BS.
Greg was awesome and we should use him more in the coming games. I think he might be starting by the end of the series. The decision to use him more will be the turning point for us.
Greg was great tonight, and was one of the few guys who showed some heart and aggressive attitude in the paint. He wasn't going to be muscled around. I also hated how Nate put in Frye instead of Greg when Joel picked up his third foul in the first half. Channing Frye was absolutely terrible.
the turning point to me was when frye came in after joel got his 3rd foul, and we went down by 19 before the half. i now greg had 2 fouls but frye just killed us out there. and i am the only person who noticed this.
I was impressed by Oden. He showed no fear attacking Mutombo. His back to the back post up game is more power-based than Dwight Howard, which I didn't realize. He knows how to use his girth to back down players. Next step for him is developing that jump hook, and a little turnaround jumper. The health is a concern, but ignoring that I still say Oden was a solid pick for the Blazers.
There were just two bright spots in last night's loss. Brandon looked ready for prime time and was moving as quickly and decisively early in the game as I could have imagined and Greg really rose to the occasion during the time he was in there (against Yao or not). We might have a couple of big time players?
I think the turning point was when. after Joel got his 3rd foul, Frye came in instead of Greg, and we went down by 19 before the half.
Frye was worth experimenting with for 5-10 minutes. On paper, you could argue that he's more mobile and would stand a better chance of fronting Yao. When it didn't work, though, we should've yanked him.
Since Joel did almost nothing to earn 3 fouls and had already been knocked to the floor 3 times by Yao with no call it was pretty obvious by then that the game had been pre-decided. We should have just played the bench the rest of the game as a protest.
