http://www.nba.com/2009/playoffs2009/04/17/gatech20090417/index.html crazy! they pick both the celtics or the cavs to beat us in the finals. LOL i've read numerous articles and analysts that they're going with the Cavs to win it all... honestly i don't mind being the 'underdog' this time around.
I definitely wouldn't take LA as underdogs. C'mon, we have the Zen Master and the best player in the league.
I contest the "best player in the league" notion. And I think it's crazy to think the Lakers would be the underdogs going into the Finals. I believe the Cavs can win, but you can't be serious to call them the underdogs.
Im not calling them underdogs... the guys who are picking the cavs to win it all are saying that we're the underdogs. Best player in the league? whoever wins the title this year. *EDIT: Title = NBA 2009 Championship
MVP award doesn't show who is the best anymore. Beacuse if it would, then Nash > Kobe, LeBron, Olajuwon, Barkley etc.
You're wrong, Barkley and Olajuwon played at a bad time because MJ was in the league then. Nash played when there where very few great players and they weren't on good teams, so that pretty much killed their chances. If Gasol was a laker in 05-06,06-07 then i suppose Kobe would have been a back-to-back MVP too, or at least in one of those years ...if i got your point right.
Well, yeah, I kinda overreacted. But you drifted away from the first point of my posts. I started that whole MVP thing because kobe23 wrote "best player in the league?whoever wins the title this year" - I didn't concentrate what he wrote and automatically thought that he was talking about that MVP-going-to-LeBron thing again. But imo you can't make conclusions based on who gets the MVP award, that's what I wanted to say (because LeBron will get it, but he isn't better than Kobe, stats aren't everything). And I think that there have been too many arguments about that so we better not bring that up again. Aight now that was a messy post...
when i said "title" i meant the Championship. sorry for not clearing it out (coz' its la - cleveland in the finals therefore kobe vs. lebron)
