Scola looked like he did a nice job on Aldridge in the post, he wouldn't give up position and made him work for everything.
He worked his ass off trying to stay in front of Aldridge. I don't recall him defending in front of Aldridge in prior games. A good idea, because Scola is not a great post defender playing behind guys.
No, I'm pretty sure Yao has scored more than that before in a quarter. He had a big fourth quarter in a game last season or two seasons ago in Washington.
Let's hope Przybilla stays stupid and tries to play Yao straight up. The pace isn't extremely fast, which is good for Yao. He hasn't had to sprint down the floor a lot.
Przybilla's out. Battier's played a really smart game tonight. Attacking the rim when he's open and making some good passes into the post.
It's alright. The Rockets have done a good job taking advantage of their front and attacking the other side when they're out of position. Yao has hurt them with offensive rebounding in the first half as well when they fronted. The gameplan for the Rockets has been executed almost to perfection.
Yao probably won't check in again. That's good, we get three days' rest and Yao plays only 20-odd minutes. Brooks has been on fire, and not afraid to gun it.
great win last night * Yao dominated * Ron picked his spots well * Scola got underneath Aldridge's skin, and was crafty on the offensive end as usual *Blazers had no answer for brooks *Deke, Lowry, Wafer, and Landry were awesome off the bench * Great defense...especially guarding the pick and roll, and pick and pop *Great offensive execution * Great job of crashing the boards * Great intensity from the start I mean WOW! I definitely didn't expect this. Blazers will probably try to front Yao in game 2, but after seeing that dismantling last night, I think we can still dominate them in other areas of the game. GO ROCKETS!!!! oh and....... THE DREAM HAS RETURNED FOR THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!
I hope we don't get over-confident because this series is far from over. Anything can still happen. We need to come out with the same intensity and start in Game 2. They'll come at us stronger, but we have to keep doing what we're doing. If Rockets win Game 2, it's over.
Wow what a game! I'm glad they used Mutombo! He is still a monster on the boards and on defense/shot blocking. If they play smaller teams I hope they still use Mutombo at least as much as Hayes for guaranteed rebounds and blocks. I knew Brooks was good, but not this good! He hit some sick moves and crossovers. Keep it up Rockets!
