IF the Warriors made it this season, then it would be them obviously, but they're sucking again because of inept management. Sooooooo we're faced with watching from the sidelines again and discussing the draft. However, this year poses some interesting matchups. My card would have been: ROUND ONE: CELTICS over CHI CLE over DET SAS over DAL HOU over POR LAL over UTA ORL over PHI MIA over ATL DEN over NOH ROUND TWO: CELTICS over ORL CLE over MIA LAL over HOU DEN over SAS ROUND THREE: CELTICS over CLE LAL over DEN FINALS: CELTICS over LAL
As long as the Lakers or Jazz don't win, I'll be happy. As far as the Celtics go, isn't KG expected to be out?
Round One. (East) Cleveland Cavaliers v.s. Detroit Pistons (4-1) Boston Celtics v.s. Chicago Bulls (4-2) Orlando Magic v.s. Philadelphia 76ers (4-2) Atlanta Hawks v.s. Miami Heat (4-3) Round One. (West) Los Angeles Lakers v.s. Utah Jazz (4-1) San Antonio Spurs v.s. Dallas Mavericks (4-3) Denver Nuggets v.s. New Orleans Hornets (4-2) Houston Rockets v.s. Portland Trailblazers (4-3) Round Two. (East) Cleveland Cavaliers v.s. Atlanta Hawks (4-2) Boston Celtics v.s. Orlando Magic (4-2) Round Two. (West) Los Angeles Lakers v.s. Portland Trailblazers(4-3) Denver Nuggets v.s. Dallas Mavericks (4-2) Conference Finals. Cleveland Cavaliers v.s. Orlando Magic (4-3) Los Angeles Lakers v.s. Denver Nuggets (4-2) Finals. Cleveland Cavaliers v.s. Los Angeles Lakers (4-2)
Somebody who hasn't won it already. I'll go for the Jazz in the west, Cavs in the east. Sloan deserves a ring and the Cavs have sucked so bad since forever that they need to win one. Maybe the warriors franchise will turn around once we get a "lebron", but that's crazy talk. We got the worst ownership for winning next to Donald Sterling's clippers. If we put Cohan and Rowell on any other franchise but ours, we'd be going to the lottery a lot less than that team.
Yeah. It sounded as though KG was coming back, but after reading the news the past couple of days out of Boston, it sounds like he's out for the playoffs. Doc Rivers may tell a white lie about a guy not being ready for a game and then he's in the game, but I doubt he's making up this kind of story. Both Glen Davis and Leon Powe and the remaining stars -- Pierce, Allen, and Rondo will have to pick it up for the Celtics to have a chance against the Cavs. But it would have been a lot better if they had KG against the Cavs. The team that is in the worst shape is Orlando and they have both ex-Warriors Pietrus and Foyle healthy. Even with KG out, Boston should be able to take out Chicago or Orlando/Philly.
Legacy, if its Lakers vs Cavs in The Finals, then I'll bet you a cyber beer that the Cavs will win it . I am ready to bet my house on that series.
Yeah I get that they've got a shot, but I'd hold off on the guarantee. :O The point differential thing that some rating systems use, I think is flawed. They struggle against the best teams. I'm not sure they could beat the Rockets or some of the lower seeded Western teams on the road even once, they have one decent road win all season. The Celtics with KG match up better against the Lakers in my opinion.
Lakers over Cavs in the finals in 7. LeBron is the MVP, Kobe is just the better player. He won't let his team lose another finals. Disclaimer: I am not a Lakers fan...in fact, I despise them and only wish them failure.
First, you're right about KG. Even if I am rooting for the Celtics, without KG, they will have a tough time against the Cavs and the Lakers. They need KG to give them a shot at repeating. That said, what's great about a Lakers vs Cavs matchup is the money will be pouring into the Lakers. That pot will be ripe for the picking.
I'd be really interested to see how the Lakers guard LBJ. Kobe's the only one who has a chance at slowing him down but do you want to tire him out and risk foul trouble. Odom won't have a chance at stopping him. I guess Ariza would be the best bet. It's too bad they couldn't make that proposed Odom for Artest swap. I'd love to see that matchup with a title on the line.
Artest's shot selection would have killed the Lakers. What makes Odom nice is his interior passing with Gasol, when they are on, it is beautiful and devastating. Bynum however does not have the hands of Gasol. I would like to see King James win a title and stay in Cleveland. However I wonder if the Cavs can contain the Bynum/Gasol/Odom frontline.
