A woman who works around the corner from me (I mean in the same building, same company, different department) is the first cousin of Carl Landy. I found that out just recently when the Rockets played Sacramento and Golden State. He got tix for her & her husband and took them to dinner after the games. She does not follow basketball and was not aware that 3 teams were in a flat tie. Still, we should probably avoid each other for a week or two. She did see me in Blazers shirt today.

I think you should make a bet with them. If the Rockets win the series you will wear a Rockets jersey for a day and if the Blazers win she has to wear Fruit of the Looms or whatever it is that is being depicted in your avatar.
At work avoiding confrontation can be a good idea. If she were a fan we'd have a bet on, but she never even watches the game. It's just family to her.
