This is tougher than all these other comparisions but wade hasn't proved himself. Yet.Kobe is the better all round offensive player. He's offensive arsenal is way more polished than wade . Kobe's shot selection at times is iffy but in that category kobe is the better. Wade's jumpshot is too weak, he dreams about hitting the shots kobe can.On defense again Kobe is better in this. Wade is a decent defender but kobe's got his number. Kobe's defense again is iffy at times but again he's had great defensive preformances this season. He's alo been named in the nba all defensive team numerous times none of which wade has touched.Clutchness? Wade is clutch without a doubt. But kobe's leading the league in 4th quarter preformances, and has hit many shots in the past to give him the edge. Kobe at the age of 21 hit shots in the finals against the pacers where he carried the lakers in when shaq fouled out. What wade has on him? Shot selection and passing [that' debatable though].So in short Kobe bryant wins this.

The only reason his midrange jumpshot is as praised as it is is because it's the only thing he shoots)- Kobe, who has the ball more than Wade, averages less turnoversNow add in the fact Kobe has won 3 Championships, has a higher completion percentage in the clutch, and can be an All NBA First Team defender, and Wade does not stand a chance
Wade has better shot selection and he is better at hacking defenses apart and getting inside. That's why they call him flash. Those were the only 2 things that I could see in this argument for Wade. Stupid topic.
Yo Mannys could you stop calling topics stupid and taking shots at people for godssake? It's getting on my <Censored> nerves

Also, wade has the ball in his hands more than Kobe...Wade can be an all NBA first team defender also, but like Kobe, isn't using those skills at the moment. As for this comparison, it's Kobe. More proven and still has more of a variety to him. But, when Wade stretches his jumper out to 22ft or so and utilzies his athletic ability and transfers it to defense....watch out.
I stopped reading when you said Wade has the ball in his hands more than Kobe... JK, but seriously Kobe has the ball in his hands more than Wade. And while Wade can be an All NBA First Team defender, Kobe has been an All NBA Defensive First Teamer in the playoffs. The man has risen his game on both ends in the playoffs before, something Wade has never done
That is true, but ever since Shaq left, Kobe has been primarily an offensive player, and is not playing defense the way he did a few years ago. I agree he is the better defender, probably much better, but like Wade, he is not using that ability.
Both are overrated defensively because they tend to have a lot of defensive lapses. As for comparisons. Kobe has more skills than Wade but Wade sticks to his strong points. You don't see Wade taking many jumpers. He is constantly attacking the rim and getting to the foul line or getting dunks. Kobe settles for the jumpers a lot and that makes him streaky as hell. Wade is better on getting steals and blocks also. Just because Kobe has more offensive skills doesn't make him the better player. Teams have yet to find a way to stop Wade from penetrating. I don't see this as a stupid topic at all.
^I agree 100%, but that streakiness of Kobe is what gives him the ability to have 9 straight games of over 40 points, 5 game sof over 45 points, 62 points, 81 points, etc...
But also he gets games where he goes 5-22 and etc. It goes both ways. If he attacked more his FG% would be close to 50%.
Exactly, it goes both ways. It is something you gotta deal with. Ya cheer when he goes on a rampage, and hate when he goes 9 for 33.
All im going to say is that the gap between these two players is a lot closer than what most of you think. I just wish that the two could play against each other more than twice a year.

9-33 was the worst basketball game i've ever seen kobe play. That was the first game of the season i watched [my computer was screwed for awhile] and i come back to watch brick after brick after birck. That's not going to happen anymore, phil will pull him if it does.edit: Offensive arsenals do matter because if you're shut down in one way you can score through another. Kobe's offensive arsenal is not matched by anyone in the league currently.
It is a dumb topic because everyone knows who's better and it just gives Lakers fans an excuse to talk about Kobe.

I can make a kobe thread if i want to.
