For a game that wasn't on ESPN, that's pretty cool.

    Thanks, China.

Unfortunately, it wasn't watched very much in this country outside of Portland. Not many households in the US get NBA-TV. Right after the game ended, I thought "Fuck! Roy just scored 42 and no one saw it." It would've been great if the game was a Saturday afternoon game on ABC. Would've been a real coming out party for Brandon.

That dull roar you heard last night during the game was the sound of a billion people half way round the globe simutaneously bitching about the refs.

This doesn't relate entirely to the topic, but I find it unacceptable that NBA schedules West coast games at 7. People on the East coast were asleep that one game Roy went for 52.

I remember reading somewhere that the title game in 77, was watched by something like 90% of TV's in Oregon. Or Portland, I don't recall.

You are correct. Game 6 of the 1977 Finals played on June 5, 1977 was watched by 94% of Oregon and SW Washington households with TV's, according to Nielson ratings at the time.

Of course, Cable, Satellite, and the internet didn't exist back then, so the compared numbers are somewhat Apples to Oranges.

Screw that. I have enough trouble getting home from work, picking up the kiddies, fighting rush hour traffic, finding parking and getting to our seats in time for the opening tip as it is.

Screw the east coast. They will be seeing plenty of us in the play-offs for the next decade. No need to make things more difficult for REAL Blazer fans just to try to apease a few long distance bandwagon jumpers.

No way should West coast games be made earlier. The real change should be those god awful 10am starts in Toronto or Atlanta. They can't start the game 3pm their time like we do here? Expecting me to wake up at 10am on a weekend just isn't right...
