Its more like camping out, a ticket broker tells you to wait and wait...meanwhile, people in front of you are telling you its been sold out already while the ticket agent STILL tells you to hold on.

Then....blammo, yeah bro, its sold out!

Its more the inefficiency than anything.

If I had cheap seats and no one wanted the tickets, I'd think about it for the hell of it if he passed a blazers quiz over the phone. :ghoti:

Yeah, that's true. My season ticket rep said he knows some of his "clients" are scalpers just by the way they talk when he calls them to see how they're doing. They don't seem so interested as fans, the way a guy like I am. And I talked to a broker mid-season, asking how they could possibly make money off season tickets - I know I lost money on games I had to sell - and he said scalpers bought up blocks of season tickets prepared to lose money until the playoffs, and the future title runs, when they'd recoup their investment.

Those are the guys clogging craigslist!

Yeah, I guess as long as the Blazers are happy selling their allotment and meeting their budget for ticket sales, they're fine with it. I just hate seeing the true fans being priced out for these other idiots who couldn't care less about the Blazers.

I'm super psyched that I was able to get two tickets this morning. When I entered in my credit card info and clicked submit or whatever, I got a "page not found" but just clicking refresh and hoping my card didn't get charged twice worked.

We apologize for inconveniences you experienced during our Game 5 online on sale. The system has a time limit, and we experienced unprecedented demand. We're back in an era that the only way to guarantee playoff tickets is to become a season ticket holder. Please click here to join our season ticket holder waiting list:

    http://hello.trailblazers.com/forms/2009-2010SeasonTicketRequestForm

I have your e-mail information, and we'll send an e-mail to you if any inventory is released by the league or media. There is no guarantee for tickets, however.

We want to put each fan in the best possible situation to purchase tickets in the future. In order to do so, every fan needs to have an account set up PRIOR to the on sale. This includes your account credit card address matching the billing information address.

Fortunately, we have a secure, secondary alternative in our Ticket Resale Center on trailblazers.com where fans can buy tickets directly from season ticket holders. All playoff games will also be televised on KGW channel 8 as it is our hope that every fan has the opportunity to see this great team during this exciting time.

    RIP CITY UPRISE!

    yay.

I think this was the most important part of the email. If you're not willing to pony up for the Tuesday games against the Grizzlies all year, then you can't be promised anything come playoff time.

If I could sign up for the Lakers, Cavs, Celtics, Jazz, and Playoffs Only package I would.

Not getting the tickets was fine with me. It was just having me wait an hour 20 to find out they were sold out.

Are you guys kidding? There were just as many scalpers for game one, when they sold to STH. One guy was selling 300 level tickets for 1900 bucks. This is not unique to game five.

The waiting an hour and 20 minutes was just some naivete on your part, or you just trying to prove a point. You should know how selling playoff tickets is going to go, and if it was me, once I got past 10 minutes, if that, I would have been trying in a new screen.

What are you basing this off of?

The number of listing on Stubhub almost double today. Last Monday, I only saw q minor increase in the number of listings.

I was trying to prove a point. That their website sucked. I would have not gotten in through the queue anyways if I tried a new screen. I could have used another computer i guess, but whatever.

There were at least two pages of tickets to game one on stubhub when I checked last week.

    I understand.

My point was that there was a dramatic increase in the number of tickets to Game 5 today that happened to be perfectly timed with the fact that there was an online sale. You did not see this type of increase last Monday after the season ticket holders were offered a chance to buy 4 additional tickets.

What is a scalper more likely to do?

    1) Buy season tickets strictly for the purpose of selling them.
    2) Wait all night in line outside of the Rose Garden.
    3) Get on the computer at 10am and buy tickets.

If you don't like scalpers (neither of us do), today was easily the worst format for tickets to be sold.

I understand, and I'm not saying there weren't scalpers screwing people over. I know of one person who bought tickets specifically to sell them. He's not a blazer fan. He doesn't care about the team. He's looking to make a buck. Those are the people who piss me off.

Yeah, but if you want to go to the game, what choice do you have?
