Bulk helps make up for speed. It is harder going around a bulk player than a skinny player in general. Bulk isn't just about post up. Artest is bulked the most and that is the reason it is hard to get by him. Not his speed.

Not his speed.</div>Bowen isn't bulkier than most players, and is definately not as bulky as Ron Artest. Wade has more bulk than Bowen and is much faster. Ron Artest is underrated in the fact that he is very quick, athletic, and VERY strong. He also gets into your head better than Bowen does.
Bowen is quicker than Artest laterally. Maybe in a full sprint Artest wins but Bowen moves well laterally and gets away with fouls a lot to.

Which means Wade needs Shaq along with Kobe. They are pretty much interchangeable. Kobe the better outside shooter and Wade the better slasher and the better athlete. That helps with lose balls, rebounds, blocks, steals, and all the hustle plays.

Everything counts in a game. Add 1 point to Wade for those stats and another 2-4 points on hustle plays. His athleticism puts more pressure on the defense.

Wade's on a bad defensive team. Only Shaq can do anything defensively. Kobe actually has some athletic players on his team. Sasha, Odom, and Kwame are decent to good defenders. I'm sorry I forgot Kobe is responsible for his team being decent to good defenders.
You just proved you don't watch the lakers. Sasha is absolutely horrible on defense. The only thing he's good at is getting into his man's head and that doesnt happen too often. He gets called for touch fouls 30 meters away from the ring and then stares at the ref like he didn't do anything. He's a good hustler, not good defender.Kwame is a good defender, he's been our best defender this season. Odom's defense has been good latlely but generally it's been sucky.Never say Sasha is decent defender, his absolutely abysmal.

He played some good defense on Dirk in the mavs meeting. Stop acting like a <Censored> and homer and start listening to what I'm saying. Unbelieveable how Kobe is hyped up on this forum. Too bad he can't live to the hype against Phoenix when they lose in 5. Kobe is nothing without Shaq. Stats don't matter. Wins do.
Bosh doesnt suck at defense. He is still a young guy and he holds his own. It is just inexperience. He will learn.As for Dirk, he has been playing for 10 years now and he is still a really bad defensive player. You are iverrating him a ton.
I watch all the mavs games. Dirk is not a bad defensive player. Terry is much worse and is the second coming of Nash on defense.
