Felt guilty by being 'aroused' by the dancers? That just sounds kinda 'icky'. Like, what he's sitting at home sportin' wood cuz he's watching the girls dance? Damn... that's crazy. I mean, they're hot and sexy, but I aint pitchin' a tent at the game, or at home cuz they're on TV..... maybe if i had them in my living room w/lap dances :):)

Between the dancers, and Harlow, though, I'm stoked when the Blazers play :)

Yup, agreed. The Junior Blazer dancers are the ones that need to go. It's actually kind of creepy to hear old guys whistling at them from the top of the 300 level.

As for the Blazer dancers, their outfits aren't any worse than all of the other 29 or so NBA dance teams. It's a lot better than cheering on a stupid blindfolded person not reaching halfcourt as people cheer them to win another fridge.

I'm glad I read this thread before I made a response, because yours was going to be very close to mine. The Blazer Dancers don't bother me a whit--they don't titillate, but they don't annoy. They're just bland filler. However, the Jr. Blazer Dancers' routines creep me out. I remember the first time I saw them, I thought it was cool we would have a kids dance squad. Then I saw some of the same moves I've seen at Sassy's or the Acropolis being done by these kids. I'm not Roman Polanski, so find some more age-appropriate routines.

I think the Blazers Dancers have always been a classs act as far back as I can remember. Dee Dee Anderson has done a wonderful job withthem over the years.

Yes, they are gorgeous ladies and all us guys do not mind that at all. But they have been doing great routines for eons now. They are goood dancers and very talented ladies.

My hat is off to them.. Keep them

What I'd like to see more of is the stunt squad. Those routines are remarkable.

Yes, she is, and so his her little sister, who is in the picture at the top of this thread.

I told Ione that she was my favorite Blazer Dancer, and she asked, "Why, because I'm the shortest?" and my response was, "No, it's because your smile makes it all the way up to the 300 level."

If she had a thing for fat hairy drunk guys, I would have been in like Flynn.

The Junior Blazer Dancers have made great strides in eliminating age-inappropriate dance moves over the last couple of years. And the Blazer Dancers use far fewer "stripper moves" than most other dance teams/cheer squads I've seen. The Ducks Cheerleaders had me asking the popcorn lady to make change for a C-note, all in singles.

Don't see how they're any worse than these other dance teams.. The Blazer dancers seem to be pretty tame compared to what's going on in the rest of the league.

I have yet to meet a heterosexual woman who watches men's sports teams because she "loves the game".

They watch, as I'm sure is true of this woman if she really is a fan (which I doubt), to see the athletic bodies on display.

If it bothers her to spend money to go to a game where they have dancers who are prettier and more athletic than her she should save her money and only attend events such as the annual Quilt Show in Sisters, or become a soccer fan.

I have a feeling I might be in the minority on this one (I haven't read through the thread yet).

As a season ticket holder, and red blooded american male who loves a beautiful woman, I feel like I could easily do without them. They don't enhance the game for me and honestly, I almost feel like it's a bit of a slap in the face to assume that becuase I'm a man you can throw a group of half naked women in front of me and I'll be happy. I'd much rather they just run the fan contests, or play music during timeouts as those are the things I find the most entertaining.

Of course, I could also do without Blaze and the stunt team. It just feels like all of the periphreal stuff going on during the course of a game becomes a distraction sometimes.

This woman believes that all men feel sudden homeoerotic urges when they see male atheletes getting all sweaty, and yet WE are the sexist ones?

    BAAA-HAAAA-HAAAA!!!

By that logic, any woman who enjoys watching the WNBA is actually a lesbian.

Classic PC thinking at its best, folks.

Why it is true I used to give it to BeerBoy's wife (who hasn't) i believe the Blazer Dancers should go nowhere! But trust me when I say that our girls are nothing compared to other teams. Denver, Dallas, PHX and Miami's look like hot latin strippers. They wear some amazing stuff that I am surprised the league hasn't done anything.

I love you. May I say that? It is so refreshing to hear a woman talk this way. We men get so tired of being attacked for our natural attraction to the female body. A feminist world is a very frightening idea. I guess we'd all be robots, walking around in plastic sleeves, so we wouldn't offend anyone or spill anything on them.

    Thanks for your post!!

Isn't that the prevalent stereotype, though? I remember when Portland had their team, that the radio jocks constantly insinuated that whenever they talked about the fanbase. It was the joke du jour.

Absolutely right. My girlfriend freely admits to this. And yet no one accuses women of being sexist pigs for enjoying the sight of a finely-toned male body. Hmmmm.

As a visitor to your fair country, I was amazed the first time I saw cheerleaders. A bunch of women whose job it is to root endlessly for a bunch of guys? In little girl outfits? (Now of course they wear slut outfits. But they're still little girl outfits, because they're selling the slut outfits in little girl sizes. Especially at Halloween.) The only reason you don't see that as immensely creepy is because you grew up with it. Of course you don't want it to go away - that would be to admit that a part of your culture is seriously backward. Cheerleaders are one more reason to be glad that I don't have a daughter in this culture.

When I lived in LA there was a great moment in halftime entertainment. The Clippers (by accident - gotta love the Clippers) hired a dance act that was some kind of all-male modern dance routine. Two guys girating very slowly in all-over silver lycra outfits. The crowd was very confused. It was hilarious.
