Winning down there is going to be hard but if we can split downt here the doubt of the 1st round exits will rush at them....its creeping now...even better if we can win game 3 that would flash flood them. Winning Game 3 would open the door for winning Game 4 and Game 5 as well. We will see if Deke does in fact affect the Rockets and if my feeling is true that he will make a "great super man like comeback" later in the series.
I look at it this way, the Reds get 2 shots to get 1 win. Doable IMO. Losing game 3 wont be a death blow. Not at all. I like our chances in game 4 much better too.
I agree that losing Game 3 wouldn't necessarily be "a death blow," but it just doesn't matter... WE'RE GONNA WIN THAT MOTHERFUCKER! "When asked for his opinion on how the Blazers would break-down Hoston's defense in Game 3, on Friday, Mr. T had only this to... ummmm, uhhhhh... well, I guess, 'say.'"
Bold Prediction: If we win game 3, this series is over in 5! We need to follow BRoy's lead and hope he can be our Dwade/Lebron/Kobe and just take over another game. I'm still upset we blew HCA, but a reassuring feeling is we have played terrible basketball and are tied in the series and found out how to neutralize Yao. Brooks will be the key in this game. Shut him down and their bench and we should be in a position to win.
game 3 is kind of like house money, win and it's great, lose and game 4 becomes very important. i would hesitate to say that we know how to neutralize yao, as we made an adjustment but with 3 days off don't think Adleman isn't coming up with his own adjustments to our adjustments. just because it worked for one game, doesn't mean it will work for the all. i love playoff basketball cause it's like a boxing match. sadly they got off the first punch and forced our hand, now they have to figure us out a little bit.
but at some point the scheme or execution will be there. i agree that we continue to front him until they figure it out but something tells me they find a way for him to be effective tonight, adlemans too good a coach. if they can't, then great for us but it also begs the question, why didn't we front him in game 1?
but we couldn't figure out in the first 3 minutes that playing him straight up wasn't going to work. where was nate with his adjustment? making midgame adjustments and not visably fighting for his players is what drives me crazy about him.
Thats where I get lost.. him getting T'd up would not have changed that game.. whats the point of getting fined too, and looking like an ass?
i dont know what was up with nate that game...channing frye came off the bench in the first quarter..and i agree a technical fould would've been good to get in game 1. it probably would've got roy some calls when he was driving
if we win game 3 we win in 5 games...the spectre of not getting out of the 1st round will consume the rockets....we have seen adelman fail when the crush gets too much several times.
it may have worked in game 1 but that was really lost from the first quarter when we didn't immediatly adjust to yao. i guess i was speaking more to his coaching style over the last few years. i get that he's emotionally in control and the team needed a stable coach...blah, blah, blah. games when we show no life and emotion, what does nate do? keeps his arms folded on his chest and purses his lips out and says nothing. fight for your fucking players already nate.
Blazers 105 Rockets 100 I predict we'll go down by 100 then make the mythical and elusive 105 pointer at the buzzer.
IIRC Portland was only down by 10 or so when Frye entered the game. They were down by 20 when he left. Frye: Great Human Being, Horrific Power Forward.
