Don't you guys think that the U.S. team needs more guys like Shane Battier instead of guys like Allen Iverson hogging the ball? I think that's why Iverson did not recieve a tryout for the team. Because he was a main part of the 2004 meltdown. He does not play good on the ball defense. He hogs the ball too much and does not pass the ball. Thus not creating team ball, something that the U.S. team needs tremendously. Now, on to Battier.Battier is a great fit for the U.S. team. He is a guy that is a great shooter and knows how to create on offense but then again, he does not take too many shots and is very unselfish. He is a pretty good rebounder, great on the ball defensive player. He can do it all. He averages 2 apg which is decent for a SF. He shoots the 3 ball at a .385 clip which is very solid. 5 rpg is solid. Some may say that he doesn't average enough ppg to play on the team but that is bushwhack. He shoots at a .487 clip from the field which is very nice. It is just a form of his un-selfishness why he doesn't score that much. If his team needed him to make shots he could be atleast 1 15 ppg because he can put it on the floor. 1.10 spg is very good for a Forward. And his bpg have increased by .40 this year. He now averages 1.36 bpg which is great for someone that does not guard the interior. Man, this guy is crazy. he does everything well.He is the perfect mold for a player on the U.S. team. i definately see him making the team and he might be the answer for the U.S at SF. Starting wise. What do you guys think? Do you think he will make the final cut?
Shane Battier has the reputation as a perfect basketball player and yes, I and most people would want him over some other stat players.
Well, they won't have guys like iverson anyways.yeah, Battier is a good fit. he plays defense and he has range on his shot. Bot that can also be said aobut alot of players, so i'm not surprised he was left off the list.
^ LOLshane battier is amazing. i think he needs more praise for what he does. what stands out to me is his defense ebcause he boxes out, knows where his man is, takes great shots, gets his team involved, knows how to do all the little things that make a team great.i liked the guy the first time i saw him play.
he definitely deserves more credit. shane is the man. he would be great for the US team. they need guys like him that do everything well and plays great D and are smart. i love shane. :beerchug:
