Been saying it all year long...... when will people stop making excuses for blake? tonight was just another example of why he should be a bench point guard.
He probably will be next year (either here or somewhere else). But in the meantime, he's got his audition for at least another two games. Frankly I don't blame (nor hate) Steve, he is what he is, a good shooter, a so-so defender and a sub par playmaker. We're all just a little worked up because he kind of choked on that second to last shot, but he's still the same player today that he was yesterday and will be tomorrow (a C+ starter or an A- sub).
Watch out! You're likely to be branded as a Blake hater or a Blake Nazi if you have any criticism of Blake at all. You likely want him dead and want to mame his children.
And the same player I've hated watching since his first stint with the team three years ago. POS, at least a few people are coming around this season.
I didn't think Blake was that bad tonight. Just that missed 3 to tie the game was probably the thing most people will remember. But the guy hit some big 3s in the fourth, and was dishing in the third. I still think we could use an upgrade at that position but Blake was in no way playing like shit tonight. He kept us in the game.
He DID drive and dish. In the second half especially, he got our bigs some easy baskets. He finished with 16 points & 10 assists. And held Brooks to 3 of 11 shooting.
Didn't he have like 3 plays in a row where he drove and created dunks for Oden and Aldridge? That was a big stretch for the Blazers, and as a Rockets fan that's when I started to really get nervous. I'm surprised that Roy hasn't been more of a distributor in this series, though. I imagine he'd be more effective at it than Blake.
Blake sucks, but he's not the long term solution. I'm a bit more concerned about Aldridge's inconsistency. He's the key to this series- when he plays well (Assuming Roy is the normal Roy)- we should win.
he did do that for 3 plays, but that's the only 3 plays he did that. why not try that earlier in the game. why stop doing it after it worked for a little bit, and settle back into jump shooting. if you're a pg, you need to direct the tempo of the game and keep driving and finding open guys
I wonder if it's just that LaMarcus hasn't played in enough big games his whole life, or what, but we can't have him just scoring 13 points and hesitating a bunch of times, and double clutching and pump faking himself out. We need him to score at least 20, and we need him to be a legitimate No. 2 option on this team like he was to end the regular season.
Blake is playing because we have nobody else at PG right now that is ready. If you think Blake has problems, I would hate to see what you would be posting if Sergio was playing.
No, because he's fairly honest and not over the top in his criticism. Some people last night wanted to beat Blake up and encouraged him to hang himself. Those would be people with A) serious mental issues and B) would be most likely to be branded a Blake hater. I don't know where you get Blake Nazi - poor choice of words.
