Some clips I put together from game 3, to give an idea of plays where we were able to take advantage of Yao, and plays where perhaps we could do better.

When they front and swarm Yao, other players have to get open and try to beat there man or assist the open man. The Rockets aren't taking their three pointers anymore, but Portlands defense has been good too.

Nice compilation. Portland's manhandling of Yao is especially noticeable. Przybilla got away with a lot. The Rockets need to hit Yao quickly when he has position, but that rarely happened in Game 3. Adelman has to make adjustments tonight.

2 huge problems that are just killing us

Passes have to be quicker when Yao flashes open.Yao got good position and sealed his man, but it happens for just a second and that is when the ball needs to be delivered to him, and the guys aren't getting it to him on time.

Yao has to stop playing victim. Rick called him out and so should everybody. Yes they foul him and drape their arms over him, but he can't just settle in to a post position and be stationary. He has to move and use his body to get open.

And other than that, I still want to see Ron on the post.

Well Batum has guarded Artest quite well but I agree, we definitely need to go to Artest in the post when both Fernandez is on. Make the Portland big men keep an eye out for him the post, and it will open it up for Yao. When Yao can't get the ball, the Rockets still need to try to get the ball inside through penetration or posting up Scola/Artest. Just heaving long jumpers will not work.
