Blake has looked exactly like I thought he would (great backup, mediocre starter) but Trav has pulled one helluva vanishing act.

I was thinking use them as players in a lopsided trade rather than cut them outright, but 16 million of cap room can still be used to just take a player back. How does trading for Tayshaun Prince, Kirk Hinrich and a backup big like Brandon Bass strike people?

Does Chicago trade Kirk with the success they are having so far in the playoffs.

If they want to keep Ben Gordon, then absolutely. Otherwise Kirk ends up being a 9 million a year backup to Derrick Rose. Let 'em have Blake and they get a reserve point guard who makes reserve money and we get a starter who is an upgrade defensively, nearly equal in shooting ability, is more athletic, stronger and can actually get into the lane and distribute.

wait..what? Travis was the 2nd biggest reason we were in the game..Blake on the other hand..either offer him a backup role, or adios

I'd really love a Kirk Hinrich right now.

This thread just reminds me why I wish and wanted to have Outlaw traded last year. His value was sky high and now I don't think it'll reach that level again.

I wouldn't be pissed if we let them all go, but we better know we are getting a top-notch, all-star PG with that cap space.

It doesn't have to be an all-star, but it does need to be an above average starter.

I'm pretty okay with a starting point guard that plays good defense, can hit down the open three, and doesn't choke in the final minutes of games and doesn't dump it off to centers with no range at 20 feet with one second left on the shot clock.

I disagree. You are giving up a quality backup PG and a SF/PF scorer with good contracts. You don't just take back Rafer Alston.

The problem is you don't really know what you could get with the space until after you make the cuts. Blake and Outlaw are great backups. With the slow pace and good defense of the rockets most of our team has looked worse then they actually are. I'd love to snag an upgrade at PG/SF but I don't think you can take the risk of losing Blake/Outlaw for nothing.

I mean Raefs contract was as good as cap space from a trade perspective and we got nothing out of it.

In this economy, it would be an absolute shock of we couldn't upgrade both spots with the available cap space and trade assets.

Lets create a Blake, Travis, Frye and Ruffin poll on which player(s) should we cut next year. I have my vote for Travis being cut just because his ability is limited and he certainly can't play under pressure in a playoff series. Rudy was the main one who NATE should have given more minutes to as a priority.

Fuck it. Blow the PG spot up, its stupid. Start Sergio 40 games next season, see what happens. Put BRex as the back-up and call it good. If shit gets out of control, play Rudy/Roy like they're doing now in the play offs.

Sink or swim....... we also need to get Martel back.

are you kidding??????? Blake has played some good ball this series. I mean with your logic maybe we should trade mr turnovers himself Brandon Roy since he had 4 In the 4th quarter when it mattered,

That's not Rafer Alston (above average starter). I'm talking Ramon Sessions, Kirk Hinrich, Andre Miller, et al.
