Yeah, Ruffin.... sorry..... I'm medicated right now. How much cap space would that give us by cutting those three?
The number that's bandied about a lot recently is "16 million in cap space" -- that's total after cutting Blake, Frye, Puffin, Outlaw, and letting RLEC go. So subtract Outlaw's money from that 16 mil. 12-13 mil?
flip was the only series one the rest were jokes...byron will be fired after yesterday look at nate's record, what would be the best way to beat the rockets? RUN RUN RUN RUN but has he? no he made them play sloball that replicated snorezboball..... nate reminds me of the coach before ramsey came in....time to find our next ramsay. plus this is the last year of his contract....
That would still be enough to get Miller I suspect. I'm really curious what kind of market we'll see this summer. Are teams going to spend money, or are they going to try to cut back? Miller just turned 33. I suspect he has about 3-4 good years left in him. Market value - 4 years for 32 million? Recession value - 4 years for 24 million? If we could get Miller for 6-7 million a year, I would say that's a pretty good deal, and that's more than MLE. How much is Philly willing to pay to keep him? I'd be willing to go as high as 8 million a year to sign him, but anything over that would be way too much.
Yea, I think 6-8 mill for Dre would be sufficient. Bring over PetKo and Freeland to fill out the roster
Has Sessions shown enough to warrant a big payday? I have to admit that I haven't watched him at all.
Both teams are hurtin'... why not? If I were to gut my expendable teammates for one position, it'd be PG.
well the hornets team quit on Scott and they will be looking to cut costs...... Deron didnt seem too happy with utah either they could go trade me or else.....
Bayless, Travis, Picks, Sergio and the kitchen sink wouldn't be enough to get either of those two (Deron, CP3) away from their teams, sadly. I'm not sure what else we could do...Maybe get another team involved, like Detroit.
I'm planning to do a bigger post on this, but I've always had a theory about young point guards and what they do in the last month or two of the season being a great indicator of future performance. Especially guys in their 2nd or 3rd season. I looked at the stats of a lot of guys and three stood out for me this season. Using this info has predicted Jose Calderon and Devin Harris would be successful and that Sebastian Telfair would not for example. Anyway, the three this year are: Ramon Sessions, Ray Felton and Mike Conley Since the all star break: Sessions 13.6 pts, 4.2 rebounds, 7.5 assists in 31 minutes Conley: 14.5 pts, 3.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists in 36 minutes Felton: 15.4 pts, 3.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists in 37 minutes For comparison's sake: Andre Miller: 16.8 pts, 4.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists in 36 minutes Steve Blake: 10.6 pts, 2.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists in 32 minutes Per minute, Sessions was excellent over the last 2.5 months of the season. He got 1.4 pts less than Miller per 48. equal in rebounds. 2.6 better in assists. He also averaged 1.5 steals per game. I like him a lot and I think he'll be well worth a decent payday. Luckily, he's a restricted free agent, so we can maybe force Milwaukie into a sign and trade?
I would love a great PG, but Sessions even though he has shown the last half of the season he is good, will he cost too much? I'm betting he will want over 6 mil which is too much for a one year guy on a terrible team. Blake is a limited guard, but he can shoot the three and not turn the ball over. He doesn't cost a ton, a good team guy. If we added Tayshaun Prince who is a good assist guy, can pass the ball and is a GREAT defender, we have another option to help Roy out. Our defense will instantly improve a ton, and he is another good three point shooter who can spead the floor for Oden and Roy. I say he is our guy this offseason even if we finish the series with Houston well.
Sessions has pretty consistently had the same PER of about 17-18 for the entire year, for some reaon Scott Skiles had him coming off the bench to start the year ... my guess is that they've been trying to artificially suppress demand since he's going to be a restricted free agent this summer and they are already over the cap with the rest of their team. Sessions isn't an outside shooter, but he has a good midrange game out to about 17 feet and generates fouls shots at a very high rate, the best thing about him is that he's a pass first guy. The kid is easily worth 7 million a year, and I hope the Blazers offer him a contract, or work out a sign and trade if it looks like Milwaukee would match.
