Re: Nets currently BEST team in NBA! We beat Miami 2 out of 3 times, we tied the season series with the Suns and Detriot. How could you not consider us a contender when we are able to beat the elite teams. Not to mention we blew out the Mavs and Suns.

Re: Nets currently BEST team in NBA! no way. This is a good team, but in no way are they the best. They're the third best in the east, fourth best if Larry Hughes is healthy. There's no was they'll win a title.
Re: Nets currently BEST team in NBA! Nets can't win it with the lack of depth and inside players. They only have three real big men, and one of them, Cliff Robinson is a perimeter player. Good luck against Shaq, and or the Wallaces with that in a seven game series.

Because they win 9 straight, and the last two being against detroit and Phoenix? Whoop-de-damn-doo! They aren't going to beat Miami or Detroit in a 7-game series with their lack of bench, depth, and inside game. Winning one game is a lot different than winning a seven-game series.

Didn't they win 10 or 11 straight games earlier in the season? Then what happened? They struggled... it's all about how a team is playing come playoff time. If they are hot, they have a chance to go deep, but in no way will they be able to win the championship unless VC plays out of his mind and the star players for other teams struggle.

Re: Nets currently BEST team in NBA! Based on what evidence do u all disagree that the Nets can't go far? Regular season record? Last year"s playoffs? Personell (weak front court and bench)? The Nets have proven they can beat the elites in the game and the bench is now contributing. They have been the best defensive team in the league in the last two-three weeks and it is not just cause they are hotl..They have a hall-of-famer by the name of Jason Kidd who knows when to turn it up..The Heat are not as good as last year. Just check their record this season against Division leaders and elite teams. We beat them 2 out of 3 times this year and the one time they beat us was by one on a questionable call. Nenad Kristic is much more improved down low then he was last year and collin's knee is better also. Nobody plays Shaq better in the NBA then Jason Collins not even big Ben. Our bench has improved much as of late and have not peaked. Finally we match up better then anyone else in the east against the Pistons. We are 2-2 against them this year and have always plyed them tough even when they won the championship. Now i am not saying the Nets are a sure bet for the Finals but they have a legit chance. Prove me otherwise please.

They have guys like Carter, Jefferson and Kidd who can create a spark on offense but their interior defense is not always there. They also don't have much depth. They will be lucky to win one series IMO.

The 3rd longest winning streak in the NBA this season didn't do it. Beating the Mavericks, Pistons and Suns by a combined 54 pts didnt do it. O well..

The Nets are playing great right now, but there is no way they will be able to beat Detroit in a seven-game series. They have a shot against Miami though, but they won't beat Detroit, Dallas or SA in a seven-game series come playoff time.Define "a legit chance" and maybe I'll change my opinion. But, if you want proof as to why they won't... just watch the playoffs, and you'll see why.
Re: Nets currently BEST team in NBA! Yeah, I think so 2 since they can defeat DET, and start long win streaks. Also, they have 4 great players in their starting lineup. I say their best player off the bench would be CRobinson.
