Hmm, not sure if I should bring this back up, but he had Wallace, and then Wells in his name. ...I like this one much more
I'm always resistent to change. I stuck it out on the ESPN board for about 2 years after everyone else left (except for Maris/jlprk) for BBF. On the recent migration from BBF to here, I held out for about a month. I'm not the diehard MGB is (be sure to turn the lights off and lock the door when you finally leave), but tend to stick things out until the old place becomes a ghost town. Hopefully, we won't have another migration anytime soon, but if we do, I think I'll be less resistent to move. History has shown the the quality of the community is dependent on the members much more than the hosts. BNM
I first started posting on ESPN after some kid jazz poster was trying to pile on the Blazers (I think some time after the Memorial Day Miracle) that the "Blazers deserved to lose after what they did to the Jazz."
There was one poster (I can't remember who it was) who got mad at how the Blazers were playing and jumped ship and decided to be a Pistons fan post-Sheed trade. I can't remember for sure who the poster was. He began a thread that he was no longer a Blazers fan and got bashed pretty hard. Then after he jumped ship the Blazers actually started playing fairly well and he wanted to jump back on the Blazer bandwagon but no one was going to let him back on. At some point he became banned.
I posted at ESPN for a little bit (couple months) and then went to BBF in 2007 and been w/ the crew ever since.
I went to a get-together at Godfather's Pizza on the west side (Baseline/Cornelius Pass Road) for a viewing party to watch Blazers/Lakers playoff game. I want to say that was in 2000, but I'm not sure. Could have been one of the following years. Don't know if you were there, but I remember ProudBFan, e_Blazer, gramps, and ... believe it or not ... Jack Bogdanski (the guy who now runs the well known PDX kurmudgeon/pissed off at society blog ... went by bojackpdx on ESPN boards). Also went to a get-together at Damon's at Janzen Beach to watch one of the games from the Blazers/Mavs playoffs series in 2003. Went to a get-together in the Blazers box (pretty sure that was a BBF function). Can't remember the opponent, but it was during the regular season. Don't remember the year for sure, Cheeks was still the coach. -Pop
I was on the ESPN boards with a lot of these guys as well... Man, that was when I was in high school... Now I've finished college and have been out in the real world for almost 3 years!!! My oh my! I was Keebs back then too by the way... JMK
I was TradeSheedNow, and mostly just got in arguments with people about politics. Oh, how some things never change.
