him and that fat a$$ francesa said blazers are done tonight, and so are the other 2 teams down 3-2. Francesa started by asking how many games would it take for the lakers to beat the rockets. Barkley really didnt say much about the blazers other then its over tonight. this blazer team really doesnt get much love from anyone on teh east coast at all.

barkely and francesa both say... lakers and nuggets are going seven. also dallas is over rated.

All I remember of Barkley's playing days is him trying to back down other players with his fat ass while he yelled at the refs that the other team was playing illegal D when they didn't commit to either double team or single coverage.

It was so boring and I'm sure his teammates hated it too, standing around . . .

    A. Like Francesa has watched 1 second of the PDX series

    B. Like Francesa has watched 1 second of the the Nuggets this season

    C. Dallas is overrated? They were the fucking 6th seed? How is a 6th seed in round 2 of the playoffs at this point in the game over rated? Who the fuck is over rating them?

    D. "Utah is going to scare someone in the playoffs" -C Bark

The only people that think the clueless fuckwits from TNT or WFAN are entertaining or know anything about whats going down... are even bigger clueless fuckwits.

Chris Webber, reggie Miller, Gary Payton Charles Barkley lecturing us on what it takes to get through the playoffs.... Oh fucking dear

Gary Payton on the other hand has been very good about us and comes across as if he is openly rooting for us to win the series. Same with Steve Smith.

Maybe cause nate played with payton and possibly coached him. Is it both?

and btw... i think Cherly Miller is in love with Aldridge. She always gushes about him. Rebecca will not be pleased.

If I was Barkley, I would pick the Rockets. I am the biggest Portland fan and I believe they can win tonight, but the odds are not in a young teams favor. I don't think we should think announcers, journalist etc, are wrong just because they are picking the favorite. I haven't looked at betting lines, because I don't bet, but I'm sure Houston is the favorite tonight as they should.

Go Portland. I hope Roy, Aldridge, Outlaw and Rudy have big games and get Yao and Scola into foul trouble. Like our chances if that happens.

    yes it is

on a similar note, remind me of how many years Barkley played for the Blazers? Chuck, Kenny, GP & Steve Smith all have their rooting interests.

Not too surprising although Kenny and Charles also predicted that we'd lose Game 5. Ernie was the only guy who thought we'd win and see a Game 6.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Though I'm not sure why he (or other players) would have a vested interest in teams they played for. The coach is different, the GM is different, the players are all different. Who is he "loyal" to? The owner? The name?

I'm not sure this is Houston partisanship on his part. I think he has a philosophical distaste for how he perceives Portland plays, and he purposely takes extreme positions to be entertaining (which is why I don't consider him a credible analyst, and also don't get bothered by what he says).

He considers Portland a "soft, jump-shooting" team. While Portland shoots a fair number of jumpers and haven't played strong defense this year, they're a great rebounding team (generally part of "toughness"), they do get a lot of points in the paint and they're extremely efficient in their jump-shooting...they're not a "jack-it-up" team.

So, I think Barkley sees the Blazers as a team akin to the Warriors or something. He's completely wrong in his perceptions, but that's why he continually sells Portland short.

That said, I'd also say Houston is more likely than not to end the series tonight, since they're at home. But Portland has a perfectly legitimate chance to push it to a game 7, where they'd be solid favourites.

Yea no big whoop. People can express their opinions as they wish. If you listen to Barkey quite a bit, you quickly come to the conclusion that he doesn't watch the Blazers much. But he does pay attention to them enough to think they will be something in a few years. Every once in a while, you will catch him saying stuff like "You better beat them now, because in 2 years, you won't.". He believes the Blazers will be good. He just thinks they are too young right now.

Barkely has been very suspect in his analysis all year long - which does not change the fact that the Blazers could lose tonight.

At the end of the day - you have to love what this team has done this year - they grew before our eyes - and you can see that they are just starting to scratch their potential.

Personally - I would be shocked if the Blazers would not be in it until the last minute or so - and I honestly think they have a good chance of finally winning in Houston.
