Re: Round 2: Lakers vs. Rockets Series Thread

Did anyone hear Artest after the game? He tols Craig Sager that Brandon Roy was the best player he had ever guarded. Sager immediately replied by telling artest he would have to guard Kobe Bryant next round and asked him if he cared to retract his statement. Artest then replied, "No. Brandon Roy is the best Ive ever guarded. Hes the only player to ever score 40 on me." :drumroll: "So he's a comedian now!"

Attention Rockets fans..... ya'll might wanna get this guy a mussle. Has he forgotten the last time he told Kobe that he wasnt ready? Start praying that Kobe didnt hear him this time. :biglaugh:

Is Ron crazy? Wait...we all know that.

He is crazy for pissing off Kobe like this.

Kobe is going to go nuts on Ron. Ron just burried his team.

Bynum is getting a little excited down there, I hope that pisses Yao off, and Yao goes off on Bynum. And for Ron Ron, I dont really know about his statement, but I am 100% sure he is looking forward to guarding Kobe Bryant. Should be a great series, dont underestimate us!

    Yao going off isn't exactly...scary.

The fact that we can counter that with Bynum, Gasol, and Odom PLUS Kobe is just...comforting.

I bet Dacos gets some PT in this series. He played Yao well the last time these teams met.

the key to this series for the rockets will be the play of aaron brooks.....when he's in attack mode he can be tough to stop....good luck to you guys.....well not really, but you get my point.

I don't think that will be the key, but I do get your other point. :)

yes he is "one" of our keys that can make a big difference in the series, especially since the laker pgs have trouble staying in front of people...

The main reason that I pointed out brooks is, because I notice how this rockets team is much different when he's aggressive. He has the ability to be one of the best pgs in the NBA (that's why we had to get rid of Rafer to let him develop). He's still young and he's still learning some things (it's almost like his rookie season), but he's going to be an oustanding pg for years to come.

He is a nice developing player that went off on the Blazers a couple of times, but there are far bigger keys on both teams.

Re: Round 2: Lakers vs. Rockets Series Thread

Monday is too soon. Let the Rockets have a weak off to sit back and enjoy winning without there most payed player.

As long as they keep working hard, I will keep watching the Rockets. I don't care if they get beat. Everyone looks at this team and thinks how do they beat anybody? You can take Yao out or limit him pretty much any time you want. Yet they somehow find ways to win without a Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Billups, Roy, or Parker.

Kobe plays to win every night, so do the Rockets.

I believed Mitch would not re-sign Odom up until just now. Odom will take your money, but the only team he has ever tried for is the Lakers. Odom is raw, it is scary how talented the Lakers are when he comes to play. The Lakers were more talented than Boston last year, but the only person who came to play was Kobe. I wish I could say the Rockets can outwork the Lakers, but they are nowhere near the talent level of the big three in Boston and the rest of the guys that work hard every night.

Aaron Brooks is the only player on the Rockets that is capable of taking advantage of his matchup, therefore, I agree that he is our 'key' player. When he's on, so are the Rockets.

This will be a competitive series, but I can't see the Rockets coming out on top. The Rockets will not be able to defend the Lakers like they do against most teams because all five starters can score the ball from all areas of the court. The playoffs are all about match ups and adjustments and the Lakers have more options available with their versatile roster.

    Competitive? We're not playing Denver.

Denver, with Billups in that lineup, is looking like our only competition. The Rockets will be a walk over.
