Bad topic. Anyway I would say Jason Kidd. He is just such a pure pg.

If this is just currently, then either Nash or Kidd, but there more than pure point guards. I was hoping this was all time, b/c then I'd say John Stockton.

Chauncey sometimes takes too many shots. i would not say he is the purest of pg's.

I think Steve Nash. He always look for his teammates first. Then Nash, then theres no one really that can compare to them.

Kidd. Simply because he's able to do what Nash does and even more.

Kidd. The model PG. He can do everything Nash can (although not as good of a scorer), but can also play the best defense for a PG. He can stop the elite PG's, then proceed to drop 20/10/10 on them. Not to mention Kidd is also a triple double threat every night, and is the leading rebounder on nets!

easily jason kidd. he makes everyone around him better. this may be a stretch but he could probably make jerome james into a decent player. he distributes the ball and always makes the right pass.

What is a "true" point guard? The point guard position is evolving very similiarly to the quarterbacking position in the NFL. You have the pocket passers, who are your pass first PGs, and you have your scrambling QBs, who are you shoot first PGs. Both can be effective in the right system and with the right personal and coaching. The best pass first point guard is Jason Kidd because he is more well rounded than Steve Nash.

It's not be being well rounder. It's about being a true point guard. Nash is definitely the more true point guard as he is always finding players no matter if in the half court or in full court. Kidd does most his damage in the full court and struggles in the half court.

Brevin Knight is the most underrated pure PG in the NBA.

Jason Kidd. Simply gets it done depending on what he has to do from defense through handing out water.

He couldn't have reached Finals twice and pushed the defensive minded Piston to game 7 if he couldn't run an offense to perfection in half and full court. I'll give Nash the advantage in half court, but full court Kidd has it. And being well rounded is important at each position. In 2 straight days Kidd put the clamps on 2 PG's who are in MVP race.

I pick JKidd. He makes plays, he's pass-first, he makes his teammates better, and he plays DEFENSE.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kingjamez @ Mar 29 2006, 03:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Nash, he is incredibly good at making his teamates better..Its not even funny..-Raja Bell-Leandro Barbosa-Boris Diaw-Shawn Marionthere all having career years..</div>To be fair, Shawn Marion and Raja Bell were already formidable players without Nash. Both have benefitted, but they're not as dependant as you think. Also, Leandro Barboso hasn't played on another team, so it's difficult to see how he'd do w/o Nash.

Yes he did. As a rookie he played on the Suns when Nash was still in Dallas. Nash has really boosted him this year. He is really being overlooked this year. 12, 2 and 2 are good averages.
