Yes, we have our fights, but it has been a BLAST sharing this season with all of you (even MIXUM). A BLAST. I consider all of you friends and if you're ever in L.A., PM me and let's watch a game together (this year's playoffs or next season). I'm going to go outside and get some fresh air. Great season. Peace. Go Blazers.
Five months until preseason. So far away. Of course there's the obligatory draft day chaos, and I'm sure KP will have fun as usual, only this time I expect a starting point guard by July. Summer League right after that, which will be Batum, Bayless, the unsigned foreigners, and #24 (maybe). I'm sad, but it was a great season. You're right, it's time to take a break...
It's just a shame that dissenting opinions get treated with such hostility around here. Honestly, this place doesn't give me the same enjoyment it used to.
C'mon. It's not like you'll have some newbie sarcastically make fun of you for making THAT point. Oh. Wait. It's too bad that we have so many angry and out-and-out mean people around, but I guess it's just part of this kind of community. I'm not sure why (or if) it's changed from the "good old days", but it seems sometimes like it has. Ed O.
I've only been around for a few years (between ESPN, BBF and now here) but my guess is that when the team sucked and expectations were low, any little positive developments could sate most people, now that the team is returning to respectability, expectations for a lot of people have escalated, and the tolerance for failure is much lower -- I saw posts not two weeks ago proclaiming that this was going to be another 1977-esque title run, yikes! Hopefully people can learn to be more respectful (I've certainly been guilty of falling into more petty arguments than I ever used to) and less vociferous in shouting down different viewpoints, but sadly I think we've passed that point of 'innocence' (or whatever you want to call it) and will probably see more of the same. For my own part I'd like to apologize for acting like a dick and personalizing some of the arguments I've gotten into with people, I hope to do better (although I'll probably still be an asshole at my core )
I don't really think it is the dissenting opinions that get people bothered but rather the back and forth comments about single players from one person within a five minute frame. Especially during the playoffs.
I don't mind if people disagree with me or have a negative feeling towards something within the organization, but the following things get annoying: 1) Knee-jerk reactions after wins and losses. 2) People acting like they know more than an NBA GM or coach. 3) People stating how a player feels inside because they "can tell" 4) Repeating the same posts over and over 5) People criticizing another person for being happy or satisfied. Let a person be happy.
