Ben Gordon. Not ideal but there don't seem to be any ideal options for Portland. Brandon Roy would have to develop his point guard skills; with Gordon doing a lot of the scoring, Roy wouldn't need to expend so much energy scoring so he could handle the extra stress f bringing the ball up. Gordon is reputed to be an extremely hard worker and he is definitely a scorer.

Gordon is a bit too much of a chucker for my liking

I don't see anyone there that fits what I feel is an unaddressed need for our dynasty (that's our goal, so no old band-aids please) with one exception.

Walter Hermann is exactly the kind of player we need behind LaMarcus. He's what Channing was supposed to be, and may still become with a hard summer's work. :dunno:

Walter is kind of like Joel was, hasn't really clicked anywhere, no long-term loyalties as baggage, mostly ignored by coaches, just itching to play regular minutes on an aggressive team.

Or, we could just bake it!

    Great season.

Too bad the FA class looks like mostly garbage. Of course if they were good players, teams wouldn't let them leave in the first place.

We could target a couple older PGs in Andre Miller or Bibby. We need a banger to back up Aldridge next year. There appears to be no really good slashers on the market, just a bunch of perimeter chuckers, and we've already got plenty of those.

Maybe KP will swing a trade where we eat cap space and send out some smaller contracts for a larger one.

Walter Hermann over a legit banger like Brandon Bass? This team needs to get tougher, not add a jump shooting, finesse PF that is likely headed back to Europe.

Does it really matter who we bring in?

We have a coach that doesn't understand how to teach to defend the pick and roll, a coach who constantly draws up plays for Travis Outlaw, a coach who's offensive system is DESIGNED to get long jump shots, a coach who REFUSES to allow this team to run and forces us to play at a slow tempo.

We may need a coaching change.

oh and Oden isn't very good.

A few FAs could help, but most of the ones who could are pretty long in the tooth. IMO, KP will be looking more at the trading market than the FA market. This should be the perfect year for a lopsided trade. With cap space, the Blazers can offer young, cheap, talent to a cash-strapped team and take back a proven player who's making bigger bucks.

With some of the glowing comments Ron made during this series about the Blazers and BRoy, I wonder if he too has been thinking about how he'd look in a Blazers uni.
