Did our players get better over the course of the season? It's an interesting question because as I break it down I was surprised at what I came up with. Batum - No. He had some good games but I don't think he gave us more at the end of the season then he did at the beginning of the season. Outlaw - No. Still not rebounding. Still not playing defense. Bayless - No. Rudy - No. Sergio - No. Blake - No. LMA - Yes, IMO he did get better as the season went on. Roy - No. (and I do think that he can get better) Oden - No Joel - Yes. He did get better at scoring and looking for the ball on the pick and roll, we just didn't look for him enough. Now saying a player didn't get better as the season went on isn't a knock on the player but it is interesting that we did see a lot of individual player development considering how young the team is. Thoughts?
Well I think the answer to why you didn't see a lot of individual player development throughout the season is answered in your question -- there are probably too many young guys on this roster to effectively simultaneously develop. KP is asking an awful lot of his coaching staff who don't have much veteran help to assist in that development process.
I think Roy, LA, Joel and Rudy got better, over the season. And honestly, those 4 will continue to be the backbone of next years team. Now we need to get Greg to follow their lead and we'll be a-ok....
yeah sucks totally. I'm doing good.. miss the olive folks.. you still get some post in over there? I just cant handle the not seeing posts for 10 minutes at a time thing.. too hard to try and have a 45 minutes 5 post conversation while at work. Kinda sad.. good times over there. By the way.. you should have a pic of Toad from Mario Bros as your avatar
I'd say Roy improved. Blake's 3-pointer improved, but the rest of his skill set remained essentially the same. Batum regressed a lot after a really nice start. Same with Rudy and Oden to a lesser extent.
