not a pick with his attitude or swagger.. and not a pick that would equal someone who has talent but gone through the rigor of an nba season already.
For Rubio? Sure. Would a team trade Rubio for Bayless after the year he had? Not a chance. I don't know how much trade stock Jerryd has, but I'm guessing KP would not be operating from a position of strength after the lackluster season he had.
Maybe 15th pick. What's a guy with potential, but showed 36% FG and 4 PPG and an 8.2 PER worth? Remember, all the draftees have potential, too.
A part of a package that will net us Rubio. Otherwise - I just do not think there is anything more tempting than him in this draft (for Portland).
oops, that was a typo on my part...i meant YOUR 24th pick and Bayless for Farmar...but then i said nevermind cause Phil like taller PGs if possible
I think Bayless' value is probably low, since he wasn't given a chance to develop in any visible manner. Thus, I think his actual value is considerably higher than his trade value. If a team wanted to offer something near what I consider his actual value, I'd be interested in using Bayless to trade up. I think his value is something like a #5 pick. But there's no one expected to be at #5 that I'd want, so I'd only do a trade if I could do something like Bayless + Portland's pick for a top-two selection. Which I'd use to select Rubio.
FYI I just glanced at 6 mock drafts and every single one of them had Rubio going 2nd regardless of team
Seriously? Sometimes people drive me mad. We just lost a playoff series because of youth and inexperience. Do you really want to make a trade to bring back more youth and inexperience? This is the time for adding a veteran or two. Any draft pick we bring in should either be at the end of the bench or stashed over in Europe. -Pop
and if we could somehow use Free Agent Money on someone like Bibby or Kidd or Miller.. then I would throw Blake in that too if they didnt want Channing like you said.
I would definitely deal Bayless, Outlaw, Portland's pick and cash for Washington's pick (if it's #2) and a bad contract. To me, the big prize in the draft isn't Griffin, it's Rubio. So I have no interest in the #1 pick.
At this point, I would be very surprised if we got anything of value for Bayless in a trade. It makes more sense to keep him for another season and try to find out what he can really do.
Same. Rubio would be amazing to have on this team but if Rubio went #1 I would not mind having Blake Griffin coming off the bench.
