Mindset doesn't explain the drop from well-regarded college prospect and very good NBA rookie to borderline NBA player.

Unless you mean his mindset changed after his rookie season, but why would it?

When I think of mindset, I think confidence, and that clearly left him this year. He looked tentative, and yet got that look every time he got the ball. You know, the look that guy you play with at open gym gets that shoots it whenever he's open but never hits the shot? I played with a guy like that last night. For one reason or another, they just don't have confidence in their shot.

Frye has talent. There is a reason he was picked ahead of Bynum. Supposely he has the best jumpshot in the Blazers practice but unfortunately I have yet to see it in the game.

I have loathed watching Frye all year. Nice guy, terribly soft. I think we can all agree on that.

That said, if you put him on a team that already has a few bangers . . . he COULD be effective coming off the bench knocking down 18-20 ft jumpers. Think Robert Horry. He had the luxury of playing with Hakeem, Shaq, and Tim Duncan (not to mention guys like Otis Thorpe, Elden Campbell, Nesterovic, Malik Rose, etc.) It was okay for him, at 6'10", to sit out on the perimeter and fire up jumpers (and do little else) Sure, RH had the the rep of a cagey, wily veteran with a high BB IQ and as a decent defender. But that was overrated if you ask me - I can remember Rasheed abusing him over and over. I'm not sure Channing couldn't be "Chip Shot Channing" to their "Big Shot Bob".

It's just not going to be here. Good luck Channing - go knock yourself out for a team that doesn't need you to play physical. He'll probably be next years Von Wafer - killing us with jumpers in the post season while playing for a team like San Antonio.

Other than that, though, do you like Frye as a player? ;)

I basically agree, though, that Frye does nothing well. Except blog.

I thought Horry was horribly overrated - especially his defense. He did NOT effectively guard the PF and SF positions. He was passable at best, and above average for a bench player. He could never hold a Karl Malone, or even a Rasheed Wallace at the #4. And he certainly couldn't guard athletic 3's on the perimeter. You said it yourself a "role playing player". He was fortunate enough to play next to several HOF'ers. And yes, he did hit some big shots. 7 ppg, 4.8 rbs, 2.1, 42.5% FG and 34% from downtown. That makes him "a good 3 point shooter"?

Yep I totally agree. My additional 2 cents right there too. We need that other young Ricky Rubio PG from Spain. Heh.
Frye's dirty blonde girlfriend is hot but slightly chunky. Shes got no curves but she would pair up nicely with Rudy. LOL I would like to have her walk around the Rose Garden for a while with a new spanish man. :)

Frye sucked. 27% 3pt, 36% FG. Had he played for Portland, he would be a goat.

Frye had one really nice game (5) but other than that I thought he was ghost for the Suns.
