LOL the announcers were sucking Boston"s balls the whole series and im sure itll be on ESPN cuz ESPN LOVES the Celtics. cant deny that
Well, we didn't embarrass ourselves at least. I couldn't get on last night because my folks were over, but I can say it kept us entertained. We did show an utter inability to run a play in the second half (after doing pretty well in the first). Coaching... I dunno... I guess they've pretty much lost faith in Tyrus. He wasn't awful, but he didn't exactly distinguish himself either.
The team fought hard and should be proud. My biggest takeaway is that our frontcourt at best played theirs even and their best frontcourt player, KG, is out. I think both Noah and Tyrus can get better but am also wondering if they collectively are too slender to be full-minute starters together.
I was a big fan of the Noah pick, but I never considered him as a full-time starter. I thought he'd be great as a backup PF/C. I agree he's on the light side (weight-wise) to really help us against teams with bigger and stronger guys he has to guard. Thomas' best position may end up being SF, otherwise he's going to be really small next to opposing PFs. Our PF/C positions killed us all season, and the Celtics easily exploited us inside with their bigger/stronger bigs. Look at the series Big Baby had...
Nah man, the announcers were dying to see the Bulls win, they were having orgasms every time a Bulls player scored. Just watch the games again and listen to them. Same with the refs, they wanted the Bulls to win it badly.
Our best low post scorer was out, too (Powe). I personally wasn't impressed with your big men at all. All those times Perkins got in foul trouble, they should have had a field day against the likes of Glen Davis and Brian Scalabrine, but they didn't.
You have to be impressed with Noah. He posted a 125 O-Rtg and a 106 D-Rtg, for the +19 differential. That means, the Bulls were dominating the Celtics when Noah was on the court. I thought Brad Miller in the first 3 games or so really hurt us, but was solid in the last few games of the series, really good in Game 6 obviously. Tyrus Thomas was the dumb idiot that really cost us the front court battle. He seemed to just let Big Baby score on him. I know you're friends, but contest his shot. And he seemed scared whenever it was perkins with the ball posting him up. I think as far as big men go, it would be ranked: 1. Joakim Noah 2. Kendrick Perkins 3. Glen Davis 4. Brad Miller 5. Tyrus Thomas 6. Brian Scalabrine 7. Mikki Moore And I don't think anyone will really dispute it. I'm not sure where you can find these stats, but I would imagine that Kendrick Perkins and Glen Davis had a massive jump in their production when Tyrus Thomas was in the game.
Please explain. According to this http://www.nba.com/statistics/plusminus/plusminus_sort.jsp?pcomb=1&season=42008&split=9&team=Bulls Noah had the worst +/- on the Bulls. -68 points for the series and Bulls collectively were only -30 for the series. So by net +/- Noah sucked ass. Granted, it's a small sample size.
Perkins was better than Noah in my book. Higher PER, much better net +/-, (again Noah had the worst on the Bulls), more blocked shots, moved Noah at will.
Wow, Bulls played awesome out there even though they lost. Even without Garnett, they are still a strong team. I loved the drama and all the physical play in this series. I'll be watching more Bull games next year, goodluck to you guys next year!
