All our games with Houston in recent years have gone down to the final plays of the game. We've won all the close games, but they were competitive in the sense we didn't completely blow them away. I predict Lakers win in 5, but all 5 games will be close.

That's what I was thinking. He and DWade carried that team to the playoffs that year, and he was actually pretty damn consistent doing so...which is something he hasn't found in LA.

I live in Houston and Ive been listening to about an hour of the local radio hosts. They wont come out and say it, but they are talking as if the Rockets are going to beat the Lakers. One host actually made mention that the Lakers are "scared" of the rockets. Ha!

As soon as the Rockets won last night all my Rockets friends start blowin up my phone talkin the ish. I reminded them of how we swept them this year and they reminded me that that was during in the season and that we're now in the playoffs. My response???????? The playoffs are uncharted territory for the Rockets. No matter what Artest says the Rockets goal wether it was subconscious or not was to advance past the 1st round. Congrats! You did it! But the Lakers are playin for a championship. Enjoy this series Rockets fans. It's still along way till the opener of the 09'-10' season.

Represent! My wife is from Houston so I've been getting a lot of shit talking from my friends and her friends in Houston. I can't wait for this series to start!

I want to know how Houston is going to defend the pick and roll when Yao has to defend Gasol.

The East has been garbage for a few years now, it wasn't just that year. However, to discredit what Odom did his one year in Miami because the East sucked is crazy. He was phenomenal that year, and if you think otherwise, you never watched the Heat play that season.

Actually, he had to play more east teams that year. That conference was all about iso-guards that had teammates who didn't care about winning because they never touched the ball. Odom also shot poorly from the field that season. The guy should be a defensive stopper for all SF/PF. It's sheer laziness.

Anyways, 2 more days! All the bandwagon fans in Houston are on it. It's hard shutting these fools up about beating the Lakers.

I've got a question. No need for new topic.

This year our goal is to win a championship and we will be very very pissed if we won't complete our goal. Last year we got to the finals, but what was your goal in the beginning of the season and after the Gasol trade. I started to watch NBA closely this year and didn't visit forums last year.

It's funny how some people think its going to be a blowout. A little too over confident in the Lakers? Im not saying we're going to blow you guys out or anything, but it'll be close. We're definitely going to be missing Mutombo, he couldve gave Yao a rest and still have been aggresive on the defensive end against guys like Gasol/Bynum. But without Mutombo, we give up a lot of size with only Hayes/Landry to defend taller centers.

Re: Round 2: Lakers vs. Rockets Series Thread

Prior to the start of last season I thought the Lakers would finish no higher than a 4 seed and would get to the 2nd round of the playoffs. After the Gasol trade I felt we had a legit shot at winning the title.

For the Rockets fans that are saying Houston will win, they won't. For the Lakers fans that are saying blow out in 4 or 5, it will be much closer. In the end, anything can happen.

Bynum with some terrible decisions early, no point in fouling that far away from the bucket. Otherwise he did decent on Yao.

Fish is such an awful slasher, when he drives like that twice in a row that is just terrible for us. I'd like to see Phil bench Fish for Brown when he keeps playing like that, and pass the ball more dude.

Kobe missing an open three, I don't know how good he's feeling but I'd like to see us get the ball more to Pau.
