we swept the last series last year, putting us #2 in this year's MLB draft? Now, I'm not into throwing games, but holy crap, this is Stephen Strasburg we're talking about! He's Jesus reincarnated into a 6'4' 215 lbs frame with a 103 MPH fastball. I mean, we got an outside shout, thanks to the devil aka Scott Boras (I can't believe I'd ever be thanking him) and his asking price for Strasburg to sign, but I don't think that even the nationals would pass up on him, even if it is for 50 million or so (without ever playing a pro game). This guy won't just be an ace, he's gonna be a hall-of-famer. I SERIOUSLY hope the Nats pass up on him and we end up with Jesus...erm...Stephen.
looks like...the Nats MIGHT back off . They did back off of Aaron Crow last year ater his price was too much
I'd do anything short of killing a man for the M's to get Strasburg....and even then i'd have to think about it.
Stratsburg is okay but usually these type of prospects always have arm problems, and that fastball will tone down if he doesn't.
He's better than okay. This kid is so good he'll probably get called up in September; the same year he's drafted. Now THAT's pretty impressive. If you've watched footage on this kid you'd know that he's a can't-miss ace. There's a reason why scouts are calling him arguably the greatest prospect ever. p.s. I never usually rave over prospects like this (except Madison Bumgarner )
Yeah, I already looked into him earlier in the year, but his delivery is similar to Prior and some other pitchers that have had injury problems. I wouldn't complain getting him, but I can live with not getting him lol
i wouldn't mind Grant Green who's been struggling this year ad will probably drop to the 4th/5th slot. Donovan Tate looks good, but he's just far too raw at this point, he'd definitely be our CFer of the future though.
I thought Prior was a freak case. His delivery is PERFECT. He shouldn't have been as injury prone as he is. I guess you never know but I certainly wouldn't be scared away by a delivery similar to his.
Prior's delivery puts stress on the elbow, which is why after his original injury, it has been downhill since.
To be fair, I actually think Strasburg's delivery is more like Rich Harden's with the leg & hip movement.
