I agree Wade is more deserving, but based on the criteria that the award is usually based on, it should go to LeBron.
I'm with Mr. J. I think Wade is absolutely the MVP, but he won't get it. He took a 15 win team to the 5th seed in the playoffs. LeBron transformed his 45 win team to the top team in the NBA, but they were expected to be good this year. Most people projected the Heat to scrape in to the playoffs at best, not land the 5th seed and have a very good chance to advance. I guarantee if the Heat would have won 50 games this year, the voters would have had a very difficult time NOT giving it to Wade.
Lebron won the MVP, finished with 1,172 points Wade came in third with 680 points. Like the genius Denny Crane said, it was a very close battle. (obvious sarcasm)
Bryant, last year's winner, got two first-place votes and finished with 698 points. Miami guard Dwyane Wade was third with 680 points and was named first on seven ballots. Orlando center Dwight Howard (328) was fourth followed by New Orleans guard Chris Paul (192). Go find a post where I said it would be a close battle. I said Wade would be given strong consideration for the award. 7 first place votes is strong consideration.
It's not really strong consideration when you have half of what the winner has. Strong consideration for an award is when Brad Banks was robbed of the Heisman the year Carson Palmer won it. That's strong consideration. This wasn't. This was a runaway from LeBron. For whatever reason, I'm shocked he didn't get all the first place votes, seeing as how the media is all over him all the time.
I think the voters have made the right choice the past two seasons. Wade was the most important player for his team, but LeBron had an MVP caliber season and led his team to the best record in the NBA. He was well deserving of it.
