I shouldn't be shocked by the UFC's business tactics, but this one is surprising nonetheless. Recently Dana White commented on a few of his fighters, in particular Jason MacDonald. Quote: Well, turns out Dana is full of shit. Following a bad loss to Nate Quarry, Jason MacDonald has been let go from the UFC and his new contract--on which the ink is barely dry--put on hold. I suppose this means MacDonald is back to the minor league circuit to try and string together some wins. MacDonald joins a slew of other recently cut fighters including Jason Day. You win, you stay. We all know that, no difference here. He'll string along some wins and get another shot.
Unsurprisingly, David Loiseau has also been cut, along with David Bielkheden, Ryo Chonan. and Vinny Magalhaes.
I like McDonald, he always scraps and puts on good entertainment in his fights, win or lose. Hopefully we see him back at some point.
that's one thing I admire about japanese MMA, wins and losses are less important than putting on a good fight. MacDonald always put up a good scrap and deserves to continue to fight in the UFC IMO.
