Here's an old article by Alex Boeder that gives an overview of what the Olympic team will probably look like.

Remember this guy wrote it before this season, so he's not a complete idiot for not automatically including Roy.

Of note, Bayless fans. This gentleman seemed to think Bayless had an outside shot at getting looked at when he entered the league.

Can anyone find anything on the 2012 team other than the Oregonlive article? Seriously, the Oregonian isn't the type of paper that has exclusive breaking news :press:

Roy shot a higher 3pt% last year. Redd is just not all-nba material anymore.

I hope Roy and Oden both turn them down. I'm a big believer in getting plenty of rest during the summer. The regular season and playoffs take alot out of you. One of the reasons why the Spurs never won back to back titles was because they were too tired the next season and needed a catch to re-group. Roy expends alot of energy during the season and Oden needs to rest, especially since he had micro-fracture. Aldridge is a gazelle, so I don't have an issue with him. I just want whats best for the Blazer team, that's all.

All 3 would seem to be great fits..when playing the olympics, minutes are limited b/c the rotations are so deep. Really no more energy expended than playing pickup ball or working out.

Almost everyone who participated in Team USA became better players. They get top-flight coaching outside of their normal usual universe and play a new brand of basketball. I'd love to see three Blazers on the team.

Yeah, LaMarcus would be in heaven just throwing up jumpers all day. It'd be cool to see LA and Roy in there, while Greg probably isn't ready for that yet at this point in his career. But to train with the USA team? Hell yeah, go do that G.O.! Learn how to prepare yourself from the best.

The funny thing is I get the impression that Roy is indifferent to being on the team and that he would prefer to rest than play...that Aldridge really wants to be on the team but is probably not good\ready enough to make the final squad and that Greg is not really interested at all.....

It will be interesting to see what happens.....
