Does Chris Paul play defense better than Dwyane Wade? Is that a joke?

Seriously, LeBron and Chris Paul on the all defense team? This is a fucking joke.

Yes Lebron did come in 2nd for DPOTY. But I dont think he deserved that attention.
To be honest I think his defensive recognition was based more off of flash than it was substance. Those that voted probably couldnt get the millions of highlights of his weak-side blocks out of there heads.

LeBron's defense is recognized for his flash, like Quickshift said. His steals are often flashy, same with his blocks.

In regards to Lebron, I think the voters are just amazed at how much he's improved since last season. To be fair I didn't feel Kobe played at a consistent level to be 1st team all defense either.

I personally agree with this. I think purely on defensive merits alone, I don't think either guy deserved to be 1st teamers. I think if and when they focused their effort on the defensive end they are first teamers, but during the season they take it easier on defense and concentrate offensively.

However the media loves the stars, and they will get their star calls.

Kobe doesn't deserve it this year. Chris Paul doesn't either. Not sure about Bron Bron...

these awards are a joke anyways, I don't pay attention to them

Lost one is right, the nba awards have become a joke, it started when steve nash kept winning mvp's, then fukin dork nowistski or however say it, i mean i still cant get over the fact that the mvp lost his teams series TO THE WARRIORS! thats when i stopped careing about it, i mean kobe gets put in the all defensive 1st team like every year, just because the isnt really any clear choice as to who is better at defense at the gaurd positions, i mean kobe is intensly focused on defense most of the time, so i guess thats the reason he's on there, and there isnt really anybody else, but seriously, nba awards dont mean what they used to, lebron got mvp this year and everyone was like so what, because lebron has had everything handed to him you know. ah whatever man, anyway, common lakers beat them rockets!

i didnt mean that, i meant that he has so much attention handed to him even before he got in the league, so this mvp award come around, and we have all been over-saturated with lebron this lebron that, and ofcourse he deserved it, more than anyone, but becuase of his being the poster boy for the nba, being the media slut that he is, everyone saw it coming years ago, and its all like so what, no surprise at all. im saying even if he didnt deserve it, he probably would still have won.

For once i agree... this is messed up.

Especially Rondo in the 2nd team... WTF?

Me too. Kobe doesn't even guard his opponent anymore especially when the guy's just some role player (like brewer of the jazz, etc.), he just lets them pull up and miss.

Wade deserved it more than Kobe, but then again Kobe deserves it more than CP3. LOL The guy that deserves it the most was left out.

Kobe may not have deserved to be first team all-d, but neither did Wade. That's a joke.

James is an incredibly overrated defender. His choice is based on flash instead of being a good defender. As far as man to man defense, he's still not that great, definitely not good enough to be chosen over Battier or Artest, and certainly not good enough to come in 2nd place for DPOY.
