Good. You'll see that is quite normal.

Looking like a throat slash, and actually being a throat slash, are two different things. Intent matters. In context, considering what Artest was complaining about, it was not a throat slash.

Kobe's elbow came no where near Artest's neck. Sportscenter had a very visable version of it.

Those of you who live in L.A. or anywhere far from Houston get down and thank God now. If you had to listen to the garbage on the Houston radio that Ive been listening to you might just shoot yourself. Im thinking about moving....... Any suggestions? All they are talking about here is officiating. Im literally sick.

I found this, not the other gif though.

Looks like a body shot, not this other soccer type of injury.

Re: Round 2: Lakers vs. Rockets Series Thread (Series tied 1-1)

Is it dirty or is it physical play?

Kobe has always played this way and was coached to be physical and use his elbows to create space and try to intimidate another player. He's not going to back down when the game is on the line and players start getting extra chippy on the court. One of the reasons the Lakers drafted him was the moxie he displayed in pre-draft workouts. He went 1 on 1 with James Worthy in a workout. James Worthy had the ball and was backing Kobe down throwing elbows at him. Then Kobe got the ball and threw elbows right back at the Hall of Famer. James Worthy gave the Lakers the green light on the kid for having the balls to do that to him.

Artest has the same type of mentality, but goes over the top at times. When he was drafted by the Bulls Michael Jordan invited him to play in his is summer league. Jordan matched up against Artest and tried to abuse the rookie by talking smack and being physical. Artest finally had enough of Jordan and body slammed Jordan cracking one of Jordan's ribs. Jordan shook his hand after that.

This is just how it goes sometimes for competitors. They tow that line to earn a competitive edge. As a fan you hate seeing someone do it to your team, but you cheer your team when they're doing it.

These subplots make a series memorable, I love it and I can't wait for Game 3.

It also has a lot to do with the way you grow up. Artest didn't randomly learn to play physical, he was brought up that way. Listen to his interview on nba.com he talks about how his friends were so competitive that one of them broke a table leg and stabbed another right through the heart. He has always had the mentality to be physical and play rough. It's not just natural. Kobe might not be a dirty player, he might just be physical. But that still does not change my opinion of Kobe as a COCKY player. I mean its one thing to be a superstar player and get hyped and stuff. But if you are going to repeatedly say "you can't guard me" after every single shot, then that's just losing respect and being cocky. I lost my respect for Kobe, this guy is offically a cocky superstar.

Actually, it even looks like Artest is the one with the elbow to the head in that clip above, not Kobe.

That's just a picture, who knows what happened after that? When you watch the video you can see Kobe actually taking a swipe at Artest.

If you get the video prior to this, you'd just see Artest holding Kobe's face.

I can do without all the trash talking and showboating antics, but if you ever get to watch courtside you'll find majority of players talk shit.

I love how these Houston fans are acting like Houston players never talk shit or showboat or anything. They are saints.

Artest is an angel, he didn't start that incident at the Palace. He was just trying to tell the fan not to throw a beer at him, because he's Ron Artest.

What was the deal with Von Wafer being kicked out of the game by Adelman?
