Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." I don't have a link to this, but during the game tonight, the announcer said he talked to Doc Rivers before the game, he mentioned Raef LaFrentz saying that this year's knick team was "the best worst team ever". It's true. NYK has ALOT of talent. This will easily be the best team that even sniffed the NBA's worst record.
Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." I agree, I thought they would do some damage this year. Their roster and record just don't fit together.
Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." i actually quoted that once before too. they really are the best worst team ever. on paper this team can at least make it to 7th seed but in reality that is not the case.
Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." They had too many guards that liked to shoot the ball. They didn't have much of a frontcourt and they don't play defense. Larry Brown doesn't like to play his young guys who are probably the most consistent players on his team right now.I kind of knew that this blow up was in order. I predicted them to finish last in the Atlantic.
Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." What are they going to do with Steve Francis, are they going to dish off Marbury and get a solid SG and have Francis at PG....it's clearly not working out well with what they have now...Francis is averaging like 11 pts a game with NY...what will they do with Stevie Franchise??
Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." Why did they trade for him in the first place? I think Isiah and Danny have a bet going to see who can make the most moves before they get fired.
Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." Well Francis has been quoted to saying that his benching this year should be temporary and if Knicks plan to keep him on the bench for next season, to trade him.So yea, should be interesting what Isiah does in the offseason.

He made the god awful sign and trade with Antoine Walker, which we recieved basically nothing in return. We basically got two second round picks for Toine and one of those he used to trade to the Hornets to get DAN DICKAU, who completely sucks. Then he signed Brian Scalabrine to a $12 MIL contract, Scalabrine is a waste of minutes and roster spots. Ainge has done an incredible job with the draft but my god he has no idea what he's doing with transactions.
Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." Knicks should trade Marbury and Curry for West and Gomes, would you Celtic fans do that?

You got more draft picks to build for your future and you got rid of someone that isn't going to be in your teams' future. I agree the Scalabrine signing was stupid but other then that he has been a top-tier GM for you guys.

You can't have a team full of rookies, it doesn't work, The Clippers of the early 00's were an example of that. We have had enough good drafts, somewhere along the line you need a few SOLID veterans to help with the young guys and to guide the team. Besides that point, Antoine Walker is definately worth more than two 2nd round draft picks and all that other garbage we got for him. It's not like I don't like Ainge, I love how he's a former Celtic and he's a great evaluator of talent, plus he did make one good move, getting rid of smoke-a-blunt.
Re: LaFrentz: "The best worst team ever." Hey atleast you got rid of him and freed some cap. No big deal. You can trade the picks if you don't want them and pick up some vets in the off-season.

The salaries aren't even close to matching and I wouldn't do that in a second. West already effects the game more positively than Marbury.EDIT: and for the record, I'm happy with the Antoine trade. I would have given him away for free. And yes, Ainge sucks in free agency, but trades and the draft more than make up for it. He got ricky for close to nothing, he got a first round pick for jiri ( :HAHAHA: ), He traded for Wally (which is probably his best trade yet). He has done a great job. He actually does have a good mix of vets and young players. Just look around the league, we're not as bad off as alot of other young teams. Also, he was smart enough NOT to trade Paul.
