Look at their starting lineup they posted: http://www.nba.com/lakers/news/090508_gameday_rockets.html
Yeah I have the same reservations about Farmar playing any significant minutes tonight. I prefer Shannon Brown playing the Lion Share of minutes, or possibly using a big lineup with Kobe/Ariza or Kobe/Sasha in the backcourt. Something like this might be a better option. Kobe Ariza Luke Odom Gasol Sasha Kobe Ariza Odom Gasol
Im gonna go out on a limb and say that I think Farmar might play fairly well tonight if he starts. I think one of the things that has held him back and hurt his game is that he was over-confident and in a sense a loose cannon with the ball. He had too much freedom to shoot as he pleased. Hopefully tonight he will have an understanding that all they need him to do is not turn the ball over, stay infront of brooks, and knock down wide open jumpers. Seems like I lot when I think about it but I just have a hunch that he is going to play well.
We'll be fine as long as either Farmar, Sasha, Brown and/or Ariza can hit their 3's. Rockets have been baiting the Lakers to hit perimeter shots in the first two games by forcing Kobe to pass out of double and triple teams. In Game 1 the Lakers couldn't make anything from behind the arc and the Rockets continued to clog the lane. In Game 2 those same looks were dropping and completely changed the outcome. Something we haven't seen yet is Kobe driving to the rim more, but I expect to see him unleash that tonight.
I thought Farmar played decent in game 2. He needs to use his speed, that is all. Shannon will see the fair share of the minutes I think.
They made some interesting comments on the radio today about Fisher's foul. He realized he's not doing anything enough on the court and what he could do was send a message and let the rest of his teammates know he's willing to put it all on the line to win. Also an extra day off will help his tired legs.
