Good God, I am beginning to hate the Rockets more and more (and its more because of their fans and media). Their front page on the site has a picture of Crawford in a Lakers uniform. Now I understand that fans can whine about officiating and such (not that I agree with fans complaining all the time) but come on.. one of the teams sites.. imagine that on the cover of Oregonlive or something like that. Show some professionalism I guess is how I feel. http://clutchfans.net/
Wow...I thought the refs if anything gave HOU more calls so far....not saying an unfair amount but if you are gonna have a pic like that Im gonna call BS
It has to be a shock for them that they're not getting the calls they were in Portland. There it was Yao fouling our bigs and Przy and GO getting the fouls called on them. Bottom line in the NBA is that Kobe > Yao. BTW, when I see that Fisher foul, I see him throwing his forearm into Scola's chest and then then Luis flopping.
While I didnt see the numbers or anything like that showing FT attempts.. watching the game I in NO WAY felt that they had an effect on the outcome of the game. I just cant stand fans who really think their teams would be 82-0 if it werent for the Refs.. and I feel that way about Blazer fans who are the same way.
I dont buy into that sorry.. its not a matter of Kobe > Yao from a marketing standpoint. The Lakers are just a better team than the Rockets.
On the flip side, does anyone not believe that we couldn't have sent in Bayless and he would have sent the same elbow into Scola?
You don't believe there are superstar calls? Okay, we'll agree to disagree. IMO, there's a heirarchy in the NBA, and K*be and Wade sit on the top of the heap. LeBron is there with him, but he hasn't learned to work the margins like those two. Yao is up there, but he's a level below K*be.
Clutchfans is run by the Rockets organization? I thought it was an independent site run by fans. Also, I just went and looked at it. It was from a Photoshop contest (labeled as such in the caption). Photoshop contests are pretty common and just for fun. It hardly strikes me as extreme and "official" whining.
I believe there are superstar calls.. but those calls are to keep the star in the game. And not on the bench in foul trouble. Roy gets some of those now too. What I dont think is that those calls are to keep one team in the playoffs and not the other. I view the superstar calls more as someone who gets more leniancy. If a parent has 2 children and 1 has a past of being a very good child and well behaved, and then messes up, naturally he will get more leniancy from his parents than a child who has had a past of getting into trouble. Thats just my opinion though.
And what do you think the call on Artest when Kobe elbowed him in the neck was? It was the same call as when Yao pinned Greg's arm, turned and flailed as if he was struck by GO. You'll also see the "call the foul on the player closest to the superstar who actually committed the foul" foul call. All that's happening is that instead of covering Roy, Artest and Battier are covering Kobe.
I was mainly referring to the comment of "what it comes down to in the nba Kobe>Yao.. I understood it to mean like Thats why the Lakers have been getting the calls etc. and That they would win because of that. But it sounds like I could have misunderstood the intention of your post. If so I apologize.
Jeez you think that Rockettes fans would just be content to have stolen home court already-did they really expect to win both games in LA? I mean, c'mon, the team that wins game one wins the series roughly 80% of the time. I know if the Blazers were in that position- had split both games in LA and were coming home, you wouldn't hear any whining from me. What a bunch of little girls...
I don't think the team would have allowed him to do it. On his own? I think he would have punched Wafer's dick off.
I dont view it as official team stuff.. thats why I brought the example up of oregonlive. And a certain level of professionalism.
Clutchfans is just a fan-run site, I think. It's not professional, it's just for fun. Isn't oregonlive associated with the Oregonian? That's what I recall from when I used it back in 2000. If it isn't, I don't expect any level of professionalism from o-live, either.
