Re: Wolves Owner: Trading Garnett 'Not A Possibility' Wolves Owner: Trading Garnett 'Not A Possibility'29th March, 2006 - 10:25 pmESPN - If you believe Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, do not expect to see a trade involving Kevin Garnett any time soon. There has been talk that Garnett may be available this offseason, backed up by the fact that Garnett appears to be growing increasingly impatient with the direction of the Minnesota Timberwolves . Garnett, however, has never gone as far as requesting a trade."I do not see that as a possibility," Taylor said Wednesday night addressing a potential Garnett deal. "As I stand here, I just don't see a possibility that makes sense."Garnett, according to the Associated Press, said after a recent game against the Knicks that he didn't want to go through another losing season. However, he also said he had faith in Taylor to make the right moves in the offseason to turn around a team that will almost assuredly miss the playoffs for a second straight year after making the Western Conference finals in 2004."I don't want to go through this any more," Garnett said. "I think I'm more deserving of a better team and I think the city's more deserving of a better team, coming in here having something that's going to be competitive and having us getting back to the Western Conference finals.""But I do know you just can't blink and it's going to happen; you have to actually spend the time and effort. So, we'll see." [Link]
Re: Wolves Owner: Trading Garnett 'Not A Possibility' Owners can be pricks. If a top 5 player wants out of your franchise because you have yet to put the proper talent around him to win games, or given him a coach that is dedicated to winning, then let him go. He wants to be traded? Then you trade him. This isn't some scrub player we are talking about, he is an elite. If for ten years you fail to help him win, let you and him move on.
Re: Wolves Owner: Trading Garnett 'Not A Possibility' First off, he doesn't want to be traded.Secondly, he is putting millions and millions into his franchise. I think he has a right to do whatever he wants with them. If he wants to keep a player, elite or not, who is still under contract then he can do that. But it's a moot point, because the situation with Garnett is being over-blown.

Teams and owners are paying you to play there, not to <Censored> and say I want out of here because you don't like it. 29 teams won't win a ring this year, so all those players are losers, are you saying it's ok for them to demand a trade because their not winning?Players need to just shut up and play, not every team can win.
Re: Wolves Owner: Trading Garnett 'Not A Possibility' I agree that players should not demand trades but in this situation I think the Wolves should do. Garnett has tried for 10 years with this team. The team is not looking like it will be a threat any time soon. Garnett may not say it directly but I think he is trying to give a hint to the owner that the Wolves aren't going to win a championship so start building for the future with the draft or young players.
