Wait is he out for the series or just the game? That's unfortunate though, I was looking forward to our battle in Game 4. With Yao out who is their center? Deke is done, Scola, Landry, and Hayes are all power forwards. They are screwed. We better get the ball in the paint and let Pau/Lamar/Drew go to work. More minutes for Drew as well. Just hope the Lakers don't take it easy and not show up, like they are prone to doing. I thought this series could've been a good test, guess not. Hopefully Denver will give us a tough battle.
You have to question Adelman's decision to leave him in the game the last two or so minutes when the game was clearly over.
Utah had problems with LA's height, and now Houston are even shorter than them....Houston should play some small ball with Artest/Scola frontcourt.
I was really disappointed when I saw this. Yao-less Rockets prolly won't give us trouble, but we'll see.
Lakers in 5 for sure. I'm sorry the series went this way, but what can you do. Now we can see Drew get more minutes and Mbenga maybe???? All due respect, but Artest can't take over games like this. This guy breaks down if you play mindgames with him. And first two games were the best i've seen from him.
Damn it's not going to be the same without Yao in there. I'm not sure what he can do moving forward to relieve the stress on his lower body. Less basketball in the offseason would help and maybe losing weight or muscle mass in his leg area would help? I really feel bad he had to go out this way.
Well, this series is officially over. I feel bad for Yao, and quite honestly, I don't see how the Rockets can win another game in this series without him.
I was pretty sad when I found out about Yao since he's such a huge part of our team, but then thought about the time Landry totally stepped up off the bench.... but I was still unsure. Well they've proven both of us wrong - they won! And yeah, he needs to stop playing for China. Too big for all that.
Houston needs to de-prioritize him. As in, exclude him from the equation now and let him walk when his deal is up.
