http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-simers11-2009may11,0,194153.column?page=1 Watching the post game interviews today on Lakers.com, Shannon brown was the only one who mentioned that the team was, "upset and embarassed". Nice to see someone show some humility. It's gone take some of that if they want to win a championship.
Or delusional. After watching the first 5 minutes of the game and the body language I sensed a blowout. We've seen it all season long with this team. Now the Lakers could be without Odom in Game 5. This series should've ended last night in a 4-0 sweep. Instead the Lakers have allowed the Rockets to stick around and are now in a must-win situation in Game 6. Meanwhile Denver is close to finishing off the Mavs and will have 5 days of rest to prepare against us. You have to give all the credit to the Rockets yesterday. They could've came out with their heads down after learning Yao would be out. Instead they played even harder and waxed our ass last night. Pathetic effort by the entire Laker team after one of their best performances of the year last Friday. The emotional roller coaster continues with this team.
Well the reporter is right, but its not the end of the world. In the end what people remember is if they win or not, if the Lakers win the championship (I think they will). Then no one will care that they lost 1 game to a Rockets team without Yao or Tmac in the playoffs.
I was refering to the Lakers in regards to your comment about them being too proud. I think they get into a bad habit of thinking they are going to win by just showing up. I was looking forward to calling the Rockets Game 1 victory a fluke.
Yeah I hear ya. I just hate how they always act like everything is going to be fine. Its good to not get to low on yourself but its also good to be honest with yourself. Man to man I dont think they've been to honest with themselves in this series. Like you said, they have to show up.
