Never been on a cruise before.. but looking into a vacation this fall that consists of Disneyland and crap and then going on a 7 day mexican riviera cruise. Maybe its just me and I'm used to people trying to overprice everything.. but I look on carnival websites and I see 7 day cruises for like $600 bucks.. are they really that cheap? Am I missing something, or is there a catch? And is it even worth it? Thanks in advance for any info.
I recommend Princess Cruiselines. I remember hearing that Carnival and Royal Caribbean are owned by the same company and are the ones that have sicknesses on the ships the most. Princess prepares their food on board while Carnival and Royal Caribean have prepared food delivered at every port. I had a great cruise to mexico from LA on Princess. Remember huricane season starts in late June so go early. Also drinks aren't included in most cruise prices and they know that you will spend more money while on this ship be in the Spa or Casino.
Yeah, they are goin crazy cheap right now http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=1336099
oh so is that why prices are what they are in September?.... I'll check princess out thanks for the heads up, good to know.
holy crap even cheaper deals!.. although I think the wife would be more interested in Riviera ones than just encenada. Thanks!
Also FYI....they also want you to pay gratuity upfront. For that 4 day cruise for two on that link they want $80 in gratuity.
so is that on most cruises? this whole cruise thing is new to me, I gues I have the "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is" attitude, there has to be some catches. Other than the drinks lol.
Ive never been on a cruise either...that $80 gratuity they asked was on a total of $260 for a two person/4 day cruise. I think food is included in the price
I hear there are certain cruises where they just have to return the ship or something....its way cheaper.
yeah....lots of time they are the alaska cruises or something. sometimes when they have to go to some port but its not an official trip...things like you have to make your own bed or whatever.
http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=313 here we go. they're called repositioning cruises. google search them....supposedly like really cheap. like 300 bucks.
