Reviews are coming in; they are overwhelmingly positive. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/act...w.html?mode=web&tag=scoresummary;critic-score
In career mode, I'm 2-2 so far. I just ducked right into a Houston Alexander leg kick. I had him rocked, too :[
I just picked it up, will play soon, got the Best Buy deal too. Picked up UFC 87 (GSP, Lesnar, Florian, Kongo, Maia... turned out to be a pretty sick card) with it.
Thats the one I went too... I'm very happy I got to witness Jon Fitch take the worst beating ever.. and still keep coming back. Everyone in that arena gained new respect for that guy after the fight.
I've been playing it for a few hours. I started with career mode. I'm 5-3 in my career. I haven't beat anybody real but I've been knocked out in my last two fights against Jardine and Boetsch. I tried playing one of the classic matches, St. Pierre vs. Hughes III. I knocked Hughes out with a Superman punch in the first round and therefore lost, because I am supposed to recreate the real ending to the fight--second round armbar. The game is fun but has a bit of a learning curve. Expect to be kind of bad at it for the first few hours at least.
I'm 4-1, also got killed by Boetsch, probably shouldn't have tried to fight him that early, my guy just doesn't have the attributes yet.
Playing with a custom character then trying to play with an established fighter is night and day. Right, Gina?
speeds, back off! ;] God, I love Gina. I suck at building up my character's stats. I'm ranked 11. I had 3 fights with Houston. Beat him the 2nd and 3rd time. Beat Boetsch. Got rocked by James Irvin and lost to Tito Ortiz in like 1 minute. He got full mount and knocked me the fuck out. My ground game is terrible.
I did Wanderlei vs. Rich. I was Wandy and I caught Franklin in the second round with a flush right hook. I landed some vicious knees on him in the first and Rogan said something to the extent of, "Franklin hates this position, it reminds him of Anderson Silva." I LOL'd.
I think I'm becoming a gate keeper :[. I can beat the likes of Houston Alexander, Stephan Bonnar, and Tim Boetsch, but I can't get by Irvin, Liddell, Rua, and Tito.
I'm playing my first career @ LHW on beginner. I'm 17-4, got the belt from Wanderlei, and defended it against Forrest, and I'm fighting Rampage next. I've beaten Boetsch (1-1 vs. him), Irvin x2, Rua, Ortiz, Griffin, Thiago Silva (dominant KO in a minute), Wanderlei, and a few others I can't think of. I'm planning on doing WW or MW next on experienced, then the next level up, and so on. Edit: I forgot, lol @ BJ Penn... his record is 14-12-1 right now in mine. hahahahahha
What are your skill sets? How do you train? How do you build your fighter up? How is your ground game?
Kickboxing and wrestling I train a lot more cardio, strength and speed, than sparring (which i need to do more of so i can get my attributes up) I have no ground game. I'll take it to the ground with guys that have no skill and try to ground and pound but that's it. Like I said, I'm playing on beginner right now. I'm plenty capable of moving up in difficulty, but I'm waiting until I want to retire this fighter. I find that if your fighter has very good cardio, speed, and strength, you can throw more and stronger punches in bunches without gassing, and it really doesn't matter what your attributes are
