I'm watching a game right now (link) between two top teams in Israel (Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv). Tel Aviv has both Dee Brown (the Illinois one who couldn't stick with Utah) and Carlos Arroyo (who led Puerto Rico to a victory over the US a while back and who was with the Pistons and the Magic) as well as a player a couple of mock drafts have us taking at 24, Omri Casspi, but is losing to Haifa (who are owned by an American Billionaire) because they have the league MVP... Doron Perkins. Check him out. According to his agent he belongs in the NBA. Second round pick (or is he too old to be drafted)?
I am shocked that someone's agent is saying their client belongs in the NBA. He looks good though, but I have a hilight clip of me from college that makes me look like John Stockton.
Not exactly sure how the rules work, but he is US born, and played college here before going pro, so am guessing he would be a free agent, and not draft eligible. But, I dunno.
I think it all depends on if he put himself into the draft. I figure he probably did out of college, and then having not been drafted, he would be a free agent (or even if he had been drafted and cut).
Haha, 1985 baby!!! I will see what kind of shape it is in and transfer it onto disc somehow. That will be funny to watch.
He's a good player but a younger more promising PG is Gal Meckel from Gilboa-Galil. Look for him on the Israeli national team in the Euro-championships.
