Did anybody saw what happened in Warriorsworld yesterday? When one Warriors PR guy tried to take a positive spin (seemingly impossible task) on the teleconference, and got busted? For those who didn't hear... I don't know exactly what happened, but this is the starting point. http://forums.warriorsworld.net/main/msgs/2375334.phtml Seemingly idiotic post. But then, it's not like we didn't see this type of post before, where one poster goes against the flow. Then, the IP address revealed that the poster is actually from Warriors headquarter. http://forums.warriorsworld.net/main/msgs/2375880.phtml Then, Kawakami found out who did it http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawaka...-confirms-he-authored-anonymous-blog-comment/ Well, it's Kawakami, so I wouldn't bet my life on its accuracy. But, considering all circumstances, it seems to be legit. I can't remember any GM who started out as poorly as Rowell. He axed Mullin, who did pretty good job, made idiotic trade/extensions/signings, and tried to weasle his way out by shifting blames on Mullin everyway possible. I thought he couldn't go any lower. Then, now this? Actually infiltrating Warriors employee in the message board? Where does it end?
Gotta give it to Kawakami on this one. F-these guys. Seriously...they've resorted to putting propoganda posts on websites now? That's how low they've sunk?We deserve so much better than these flunkees! If Tim does a few more of these articles, I'll have to change my position on him.
That's pretty bad. In the guy's defense, he didn't appear to write anything really horrible and he did fess up to it immediately instead of trying to shift the blame. The fact is most big corporations have people doing that. Microsoft has been caught "Astroturfing" a number of times (paying people to, or having a company insider, write "grass roots" articles proclaiming the company's virtues from the standpoint of "the average guy"). Pro sports teams are big-money corporations too, so I'm not really surprised it's being done in the sports realm as well, probably more than we even know about.
Is that what they call it -- Astroturfing? It's pathetic. I guess I wouldn't mind it if it was an anonymous insider and he was giving us trade info or stuff that we're interested in, but this guy was just trying to sell tickets. He was a shill. However, if the guy used his real name and let them know who he was, then it may have been different. People would have saw him for who he was and then he could defend his position and correct wrong information. But the Warriors seem to be a one-way street where info flows down and they never answer what fans want to know or hold themselves accountable. I understand they can't talk about everything, but if you're going put positive things out there, then let us decide for ourselves. I'm surprised the STH renewal rate was still 70%.
LOL, I guess the post was so suspicious, they had to do a lookup on the ip. It's like what season were you watchin', man??? I disagree with a lot of the front office's moves, but injuries played a big part IMO. If we had Ellis and less injured bigs things wouldn't be as bad. They'd be bad, but not as bad, if that makes sense.
